You are actually not too far off. There is going to be a lot of stuff going into this patch, and they are pushing it through all at once. something that has nothing to do with chefs was not ready yet to go to the test center, and stalled everything. personally, I think it was a fix to problems BE have been having lately....but that is just an educated guess.

My original intention was to use this thread as a venting thread now that the poor little SWGmain is down and was going to do it weekly, but i guess it would be more fun to just keep this one going So each week, ill find this thread and post my weekly irritation to it

Should be some fun!

Only one thing I'd really like to know ahead of time that wouldn't be bad to give out:

What stats on resources are we looking at for the new foods? With the millions of units of resources we collectively have stocked up, what will be worth keeping?

branr yea no doubt...they should be telling us that at a minimum. Even then it willbe hard collecting resources...because our popular recipes now...could be crap after the patch...and our crap now could be the good stuff. We just dont know. In addition to that...whats needed for glasses/kegs etc and what stats will matter for that if any...We need to be stocking for that too. I can see it now...patch goes live and kegs require carbonate ore with high malleability...Should be no problem keeping up supply with that They really need to accept the fact that we need alittle bit of time to try to prepare for the changes with our resources. 1 week on test...well how much testing can be done in a week...thats kinda disappointing, and its not gonna allow much time for resource gathering when you consider shifts as well.

Ive been hording lately myself. Just been collecting the best Orgainics i can of any kind. Id LOVE to know what the schematics were going to call for and what I should be looking for as well.

With as much volume as we go through it would take weeks just to stock up on all the new stuff to stock our vendors after the revamp if they told us now! Neverless if they "suprise" us with only a week or so to prepare.

I think thats the problem everyone is having with the devs...they say so very little that we have to guess about pretty much everything.

there is so much that they should be telling us...especially if they're still planning to push it to live with what looks like only 1 week of testing...

resources: what do we need...what stats do we need to be looking at
nerfs: did any of our schematics get nerfed...the most likely victim would be the tatooine sunburn, but there might be others that they felt were too good to leave in with the new schematics
changes: did any of our 5-7 popular items change at all?

mics:
containers for drinks will solve the lack of stats problem for drinks...but what about food? vercuppti requires lubricant oil...no PE or flavor on that...theres probably others that I'm not thinking of as well.

FWIW the DE correspondent posted about an hour ago that the patch is definitely going out TC tomorrow (Thursday).

Yeah, well....we were also told that the patch would be going out today....then the correspondents were told that the patch would be going out tomorrow and that correspondents would get a sneak peak of the patch notes today in case there was any nasty surprises we could be ready for it.

Neither happened.

Not to put down the developers but I take any date they give me with a huge grain of salt. It's to be expected by now.

You're not a software developer are you

Though said in jest, that is pretty close to the truth. I don't trust my own estimates either - that's why I started with "FWIW" on the statement there.

No, but I run a help desk for software developers and I can understand how the unexpected can delay things. Which is why I am not putting them down and ranting against them. I expect certain things from the developers of this game....one thing I do not expect is for them to meet their ETAs. As long as I don't expect it, I am not disappointed and remain positive about the development of the game.

Don't shoot the Devs....shoot the Management!

I am a software developer myself and a LOT of missed target dates and milestones are caused by management. It goes a little like this...

Manager: Bob, how long will it take you to write the program to do that stuff we want?
Dev: Well, you haven't given me all the requirements yet.
Manager: Oh. Well, that's not important. How long will it take you to complete the program?
Dev: It really depends on the requirements.
Manager: Just give me a date!
Dev: It could take anywhere from 1 to6 weeks depending on the final requirements.

Later that day the project plan is published. Target date - 1 week.
