I have contacted over 12 Master Chefs and asked them for certain foods/drink and told them if they can get me what I need and they do what I want then I will have a guild interested in crates upon crates of food. i.e. we will buy a lot.

None of... and I mean none of them ever get back to me.

Why is this? Are Chefs so rich that they have no interest in making a lot of money?

This is what I ask for...

1. Drink: Breath of Heaven; need secondaires buffed.

2. Food: Veghash and Vegeparsine; need regen secondaires buffed.

That's it. I just need all 6 of my secondaires buffed by at least 250 soI can wear armor.

Stat Migration is not an option hence the need for food.

AmI asking for too much? I seriously don't know, I am assumeing I am since non of them get back to me.

Hell, one if them put me on ignore! Cause I want to BUY something from him?

Zombie... I don't know what the deal is... I would have jumped on that if I was a chef... I'm poorer than all get out. But I'm not a master chef or on your server, so I couldn't have helped you.... plus, I'm a Rebel.

No, most chefs aren't rich and above working for a living. We are always dropping harvestors on resources or paying someone to harvest them for us.

It seems the first obstacle you are encountering is that you are asking for one of the most popular drinks in the game. It seems most folks cannot keep up with demand. So if a Chef can barely keep his guild/friends/current customers in product, why will they take on new customers?

Veghash and Vegeparsine. I had to do a little research to educate myself.

Veghash is available as a level 2 schematic. Vegeparsine is a level 4 schematic and uses Veghash as an ingrediant. So to make it takes twice as long.

My guess is that Master Chefs are always busy. Just about any Elite Master is always in /tell hell. And don't forget that just because someone is wearing a Master Tag, doesn't mean they aren't chasing holocrons and wear the title for 'honor' reasons.

I am only a novice chef and I already have standing orders for BoH. Be patient, stay polite. You will eventually find a chef that you will be able to work with.

Well to be perfectly honest. Most Master Chefs are rather wealthy and incredibly short on time.

All i can speak on is my personal experience. I was poor, poor, poor for months as a novice chef. So i worked, got my name out there, advertised my cafe on the server boards (only I and another chef Oddler ever really gave any effort to self promotion on my server Oddler has since quit the game)

By the time i became Master i was well know as was my cafe location. I have 3 factories cranking out components and final products constantly. I only do 1000 unit runs and I can barely keep up with demand just from my vendor sales. I had to stop all customand bulk orders (to be honest i dont need the money im sitting on 14 million and climbing) so that i could keep stocked in a wide variety and amount of crates on my vendor (death of your business is an empty badly stocked vendor).

But as stated above, you have to realize that there are probably only 3 or 4 REAL practicing Master chefs on your server. The rest are more than likely holocroners with no intention of doing huge runs for you.

I'll re-enforce what other masters have said.

You are asking for things that take a very long time to makeinvolving multiple factory runs. For a semi casual player (less than 3 hours a night) the factory runs alone will take 2 to 4 days for BOHdepending on the quantity we are making. That is assuming we have the resources already.

Unless you are willing to pay double what the going rate is there, is no real reason to prioritize you over anyone else. The fact is it's nearly impossible to keep up with demand considering the amount of resources and time involved in making the things you are asking for, so taking on a specific client on top of that just doesn't make much sense for most masters. I'd rather not promise you I'll do it and then be unable to do it or have to give up all my other clients just to do it.

I got an e-mail the other night from someone saying, "I need to know when your next BOH and Ryshcate are done". I read it and thought... my BOH and Ryshcate sells out in one day. It takes 3 days to make the BOH run. Why would I individually e-mail people telling them every time I make a run? There's no reason for me to do that.

If you really want it, offer lots and lots of money. Otherwise, you just have to realize the demand far outweighs the supply on the foods you are looking for.

The others have it right. Its not about the cash....its about fulfillingobligations. With 5 factories (all making fishak components right now), I can almost keep up. Throw in a special order and things get VERY tight. Most chefs, especially on the master level have vendors and try to keep them stocked up. I keep each of mine stocked with over 100 items. My Coronet vendor usually has 250-300 items when I do full restock campaigns (like yesterday) and its already down to 160 items. Its very hard for us to keep up, especially once people know about our location(s).

I run AFK almost all the time now to counter the tells. Reminds me of the old guild officer days in EQ.

I love the interaction with customers, but you cannot hope to keep up with factories, vendors, resources, special orders, PA requests, tells, mails, and play the game once you reach a certain point of recognition.

Reading the original post, I have to wonder how you approached the chefs. Did you use tells? mail? did you bother to search out there vendors to see what they offered? Some may only make mind drinks and food and not worry about other stuff...some could be holochefs...while others could be in tell hell, afk sampling, or even trying to play the game. Mail works the best...while less immediate it gives the chef a chance to respond without having to stop what he is doing, such as interrupting a business deal with a regular customer. Just like in life, a customer isn't a customer until they buy something; before that they are a shopper. I know that someone who buys frommy vendors gets my attention morethan someone who just drops a tell out of the blue or is probing for prices.

If you phrased your request to them similar to the way you worded your post...perhaps they didn't like the tone. While most of us work hard to build good relationships with our customers...there is one thing that is true...we make what wemake as good as we can...As the old saying goes, this isn't Burger King, you get it our way or no way.

PS: this is not meant as a flame or anything...just an observation of how you worded your post.

It's not that I (personally) wouldn't love to be able to supply a PA but my own PA, friends and customers come first. And there isn't much chance that you'll be able to change my mind with more money - I don't do this for the money I do it because it's fun. I'm already stretched to the limit making as many things as I do, if I'm not out there setting up my factories, I'm out surveying for resources and trying to buy the things I can't get elsewhere.

Anyway, to give you some more ideas:

Is there something that your guild could offer to sweeten the deal? One of my leading problems, myself, is getting enough meats and things like that (I no longer can even hunt). If someone were to offer to hunt semi-regularly for certain items, or looked for good quality meats and hunted 'em like the end was near, in return for making them crates of drinks/foods once a month or so... I'd jump on it! I can't seem to find a decent supplier for things like insect meat and yet everyone wants what goes into them... the last person I talked to I offered a good discount to, if they'd bring me 1k of good insect meat... just wasn't interested.

One of your problems is that there just aren't enough Chef's out there - it's wonderful that our foods/drinks are in demand now, but it's difficult to keep up with even a small number of customers. There are just too many stages in our production runs, too many items and too many resources. Hopefully, once the Chef balance pass occurs there will be a lot more people interested in actually becoming Chefs!

This is exactly why I only make stuff for my friends and guildies. I was unable to keep up with demand, and I don't have 1/100th of the time necessary to explain this to everyone who sends me a ridiculous email for an order of 10 BoH crates.

As an aside, isn't it just hilarious how people will spend milions on nice sliced composite armor, but then fly off the handle when you try to charge them 70k for a crate of BoH.

Can Veghash AND Vegeparsine both be eaten at once? Can a human have both in him?

I've got a lot of money, but I still usually take every single order that I get, I have never turned anyone down. Then again I am a conglomerate so I have the capacity to do so.

Veghash is relatively common, while Vegesparine is not. Vegesparine takes Veghash x 2 as a sub-comp, but is not really a significant improvment over Veghash. I haven't tried Vegesparine in awhile, but I don't really know anyone who makes it on a regular basis either.

And as far as what you can eat, its not based on number of separate items, but how "full" you are. And before you ask how much all the foods fill you up, I'll go ahead and say no idea, its all trial and error.

Most master level foods are only consumable one at a time.

I know Brullig stopped taking personal orders a little while ago from non-long term customers. He simply makes a ton of stuff and puts it on his vendor and when its gone it gone till his next update of his vendor which isn't usually that long, but good food goes fast. Its a very time consuming task to take personal orders.

Ah, another potential customer. I'm a practicing master chef on Bloodfin. I sent the guy a waypoint to my cantina. I happen to keep all of the foods he's asking for stocked in crates. In fact I keep a lot of stuff in crates. All the time. It'll go a week without selling then one person will come in and buy 500k worth of goods and clean me out.

My factories run constantly. I just like having a good stock. I don't make special orders for people except on rare occasions but I try to keep a wide enough menu to satisfy everyone.

Some of my special orders :

"I need 200 crates of glazed glucose pate. Can you fill that?" A quick check of the inventory ... hrm.. down to 300 domestic meat. No can do. Sorry, bro.

"lol i want mind f00d. pvp roolz." Sent waypoint. Two days later I got, "werez my order, *edit* bag???"

"I'm having a party and I need 500 units of Durindfire please." Sure, no problem. (What freaks is HE inviting to his party?) Never picked up. Can't sell. Sits on vendor and gets restocked EVERY MONTH. Important lesson learned about cash up front for weirdos.

"I need fishak." You and everyone else, bud. Check the vendor. If it's there it's there and if not it's in the factory. I've got 2 factories devoted solely to pumping out fishak. "Can you bring it to me? I'll pay." Er, no. We don't deliver. "*edit* you, *edit* wipe!!!" Hrm. Another satisfied customer.

"We'll pay you 100k credits to move your cantina to our city." Um, no. I like my location and I like my neighbors. Do you want to buy anything? "No way. Food sucks." But cantinas rule somehow?
