Thread: Why aren't Chef's interested in money?

Well, Vegeparsine does have a better duration, which for regen stats may be more important than the buff size.

As for eating both at once, I know you can only eat one parsine, and I know you can eat two hashes, but I'm not sure whether you can have one of each. I'm going to go out on a limb, draw a line in the sand, stand on my soapbox and say.....maybe.

Have you tried posting your requests on your forum board? Although it's possible that any Bloodfin Master chefs don't surf the boards, which might explain not getting a response in this thread.

No replies over 3 months...It's obvious they aren't responding for a reason. Either you have a lot of ***hole chefs on your server or you are doing/have done something to merit being ignored.

On the no chef can answer question...you can eat 2-3 vegerparsines...so yes you could eat a veghash and vegeparsine...but why? Eating 2 veghash gives you buffage in the area of vegeparsine. I sell both to meet 2 different markets...those who know quality and the cheap bastards that would pry your last credit from your dead body if they could.

What they said. I have 6 factories running 24/7 and can't even keep my vendor stocked. There's no way I could do special orders on top of that.

You do realize that EACH crate of Breath of Heaven takes nearly 7k units of resources and half a day of factory time? Telling a chef that you need "crates upon crates" of the stuff may sound like an attractive proposition to you, but it's more likely sending them off screaming in terror.

I'll just take the easy road and say ditto to what everyone else is saying. EVERYONE WANTS THEIR ORDER FILLED ASAP. I'll at least try to respond to customers and explain that it might take me a week or so to fill their order, but offer to add them to my mailing list. I'm always running into new customers and they all want this or that and I try to tell them that I'll get to it eventually. I've mailing lists that go out to certain customers and notes about what my best customers like. I have hand delivered a few crates in the past, but this has been to really good repeat customers. With some requests I'll say they'll have to wait or sometimes they'll have to take the substandard quality resources because I can only get what I can get sometimes. (nice tautolgy, huh?) Also, there's the meat factor... Things that require meats are dependent on finding someone selling the meats for a price that isn't going to increase the food price too much, or again, taking substandard resources.

Someone mentioned Breath of Heaven taking a lot of resources and time. Well, I might be taking the wimpy way out, but I've started using less potent alcohols to make my BoH and I can make the crates faster, yet less powerful, and for less of a cost than a top of the line crate of BoH, but they sell! Becuase they are more affordable, still have good buffs, and I can please more people with this shortcut and keep them coming back for more! I'll still make the really good BoH, but not in crates.

"so yes you could eat a veghash and vegeparsine...but why?"

I was hopeing these two foods' buffs would stack... no?

Does one ever wright the other? God I hope not.

Again, what I am looking for is this:

I need to raise my Str., Con., Quick., Stamina, Focus, and Will. with food and a drink.

The B.o.H. does fine for 3 of the stats, noe I jusr need to raise the other 3 and Veghash and Vegeparsine both add to the those three stats... but can I eat both at once to get them to stack buffs?

You guys have been great, thanks for all the help and answers.

OK...let me clarify the statement. Why would you eat 1 veghash and 1 vegeparsine when you could simply eat 2 of either? In the past, I have personally eaten 2 and 3 uses of veghash, they stack. I have also personally eaten 2 uses of vegeparsine and on 1 occasion, I was able to eat 3 uses; they stack.

Typically the buff from vegeparsine is 2-3 times that of veghash....sometimes more if the chef uses REALLY good ingredients. I know...I 've done it. I have made a LOT of both because I had a guildie that lived on the stuff...

Since 2 veghash go into 1 vegeparsine, and since you can eat 2-3 uses of veghash, it makes sense to just get veghash and eat multiple uses. The only advantage of vegeparsine islonger duration and bigger buff per use.

So yes you can eat 1 of each...

Syke,

NOW I get what your saying. See I didn't know they stacked.

Haha you're probably going nuts wondering why

Awesome... they stack, that makes it SO much easier on the chef then to just have to make one item.

Great guys and gals, you were great.

Now I know what to ask for and know if and when to expect it

Thanks all,

Neco

I turn down about 2-3 orders a day, and now the onlypersonal orders I seem to take are friends and people who want full runs (20-40 crates) of something. I've got 9 factories and I simply can't keep up with it, they are literally running full steam all day.

I think there is a shortage of chefs on most servers, combined with the logistical difficulty of getting reliable resources, it's rare to find chefs that aren't wiped out all the time. Personal orders just add another level of complexity to it.

No doubt. Across the street from me I have 3 different merchants selling all different types of organics. If they EVER close down then my days as a chef are over. I can't go back to harvester runs ... don't make me ... please ...

Why can't we have a galactic stock exchange? All the similar resources anywhere in the galaxy are plopped into one big bucket and you pay a commodity price? The more people buying a specific one drives the price higher? I'd love to just go friggin' shopping.

We are currently setting up a resource center like you describe on wanderhome.

There will be a central location where miners offer goods to merchants to resell and the merchants will sell all in the same spot. The price will not be set but with different merchants carrying similar resources in the same location, the economy should balance out the prices. Some of our miners decided to put this together for us and I hope it will be great it seems like it would be at any rate.

Has anyone told Zombie14 that it takes 60 hours or 3 and a half days to make 6 crates of Breath of Heaven? 53 of those hours are taken making the 900 Aludium pu36 because breath of heaven takes 6 alcohol components. I just shake my head when I think aboutthat. That is why I always have a factory grind Aludium, cause it goes really quick, not to mention the 40kunits of resouces that go into making1000 units ofAludium pu36.

I am one of those chefs who can't make food fast enough even though I have 4 factories running 24/7

"I'm having a party and I need 500 units of Durindfire please." Sure, no problem. (What freaks is HE inviting to his party?) Never picked up. Can't sell. Sits on vendor and gets restocked EVERY MONTH. Important lesson learned about cash up front for weirdos.

"I need fishak." You and everyone else, bud. Check the vendor. If it's there it's there and if not it's in the factory. I've got 2 factories devoted solely to pumping out fishak. "Can you bring it to me? I'll pay." Er, no. We don't deliver. "*edit* you, *edit* wipe!!!" Hrm. Another satisfied customer.

"We'll pay you 100k credits to move your cantina to our city." Um, no. I like my location and I like my neighbors. Do you want to buy anything? "No way. Food sucks." But cantinas rule somehow?

"No, It takes Domestic Meat.Have you gotten any Domestic Meat for me yet?"
