Hello Everybody, I became a Ranger a few weeks ago. I am ready to start working on my skills now. (I was not on the game for two weeks, but I am back now)

My problem is this: I took my time becoming a ranger. I never took down anything too big, and spent ALOT of time killing womprats. Can anyone give me some tips on where the best places are to hunt. I am looking to do some solo and group hunting depending on how long I think I may play when I log on. So some suggestions on where and what to fight would be appreciated.

Thanks Adam

The removal of CH and the NGE in general is the dumbest thing a company has ever done. period.

I always found snorbal groups on Lok to be excellent exp. Nice trapping exp when spamming glow wire traps (I used these as they actually helped the group take things down faster; read less guilt about spamming traps while everyone was fighting). Also the mature and elder females are about 400-500 scouting exp. Just be sure your group knows the gender differences in the species, the females are not social, but the elder and mature males will gang up on anyone they see trying to hurt a snorbal.

As for camping exp, I found it easiest to get a medic friend that needs the med exp to join you in camping, set up on a commonly traveled route out of town and yell about the free wound healing in your camp whenever someone runs by. It is slightly less painfull to sit in camp and craft traps and camps when you have someone to talk to and the medic I brought along for my last box filled 2 medical boxes doing this.

I cast my vote for endor. I just made novice ranger less than 24 hours ago and I'm already 1,1,1,1. Mantigrues are the **edit** if you have a doc with your group who can heal poison. I was getting a little over 900 scouting xp for harvesting from screechers.

If you're soloing, head to Talus. There you can find dalyrakes, berserk kahmurras, wolf kimas and savage humbabas. All give decent scouting/trapping xp (avg of 150,) with little trouble if you've got decent combat skills or CH pets. I spent yesterday hunting robas (112 scouting/trapping xp) because of a hunting mission. Use every trap you can make, all the way through until the end of the combat. (When you see that a trap failed, queue it again. When you see an effect wear off, throw it again.) I'd say I went through about 60 robas in an hour, looking for males. Got 3k Talusian leathery, quite a bit of scouting xp, and finished off trapping iv. (YES! No more traps for me!)

The "advanced planets" are fine, and you can do well there, but you really need to either be in a group or have a big creature tank. I headed out to Dantooine this morning, as the last time I'd been there was as a just novice pistoleer. Got my ass handed to me that time, but this time around it was a bit easier. If you want to try it, I suggest /areatracking for huurtons. They were only giving out 1 unit of wooly (OQ 12 wooly, at that,) but I was getting about 250-300 scouting for them. Of course, I have a greater sludge panther along and spam /doubletap like it's going out of style, so your mileage may vary.

Good luck to you.

go to dathomir and join a baz nitch hunting group(make sure you go to the trading outpost). your group kills a giant baz nitch, 465 scouting xp for you!! also you can go to mos taike, 2.5km east of mos entha, and join a krayt hunting group. make sure the group is big and has a good doctor. your group kills a canyon krayt dragon, 2000 scouting xp for you!! i just got wayfaring 4 tonight, had 130k scouting xp when i trained in it thanks to baz nitches and krayts.

Thanks great suggestions here. Tonight I will have to work on my skills. I was thinking about the Baz Nitch(or whatever it is) anyway so I think that's where I will start

You get usage xp when someone eats the last dose of a stack you created. The UXP is 50% of what you got crafting the item. There are still a few glitches with it, since you don't seem to get it unless you're logged in and in the same general area as the person eating your food.

Yipes that reminded me... Scorus very kindly took note of many of the amounts of exp he got when working on different ID skills as he went through the profession, and so I just updated all of those. I still have a few holes, I've been so bad about gathering that info

Do you get xp from killing mobs in PVE with poison/disease and the primary damage dealer?

If so what kind?

I usedc poisons for thefirst time and did not see any xp come fromit. I finished the mob off with a kick and ot like 10 ua and 1 combat xp.

Am I missing something?
