Thread: Is a 100 pt suit a must have?

I have been working on getting my suit together. I have +25 food exp. and I am close to the +25 for food assebly. I also have +5 artisan assembly, and +5 artisan exp. My question is, do i really have to have a 100pt suit to make high end foods? It just seems nearly impossible to have a suit, that is +100..

please shed a little insight on this............

thanks

Assembly makes little difference. It only effects the initial combine and you still rarely get an amazing assembly. =25 Food and artisan experimentation are a must if you want to compete with the other chefs. Tapes are cheap enough now a days that it shouldnt be much of a problem obtaining them.

I could be wrong though, I am Jedi troll that has no business here apparenly. I have only been Chef since March 2004

The maximum amount of skill boost you can get from a CA is +25.

A 100 point suit does not make any sense. At master Chef you have 10 experimentation points, so at master, wearing absolutely nothing would give you +100. The highest boost you can get from CAs as a Chef is +125 experimentation and +125 assembly. You can also get up to +25 for artisan experimentation and assembly.

If you don't believe me just try getting to +130, you will see the 13th experimentation point missing.

Make sure that you do NOT have all of your CAs on the same piece of clothing.

If you have a shirt that has a CA for +15 Food Experimentation. And on the same shirt there is another CA for +5 Food Experimentation, only the higher amount will count. You can always double check how much of a boost you are gettting by looking at your skill page (ctrl + s) and look at your mods in the lower left window. Scroll down and if you have everything set up right you'll see: Food Experimentation +100/+125

I heard a long time ago that you can fill a back pack with sockets up and then drop tapes into it. I have never tried it. You can forego the backpack for a bando if you like but it should not be hard to find larger tapes now a days so it only takes 2 or 3 pieces.

Amazing Assembly does not give Chefs any different results than a "good assembly." So the Assembly mod is practically worthless as far as I'm concerned, do not shell out hard earned creds to buy an Assembly tape up in the millions.

The crafters apron takes up the vest and jacket slot, so you can wear a shirt, belt and bandolier/backpack. just fine.

Oh okay, that makessense. I wasn't reading it like that, though I had just woken up so maybe it was my fault.

No, I wouldn't say its a must have in order to be a chef. But of course it helps and is a good investment. The more you put into the profession the more you can get out of it. This goes with resource hunting as well.

Ithorians have gloves too don't they? So you'd have a shirt, hat, pants, and belt. That with the Apron means you'd just have to have +5 minimum for each piece of clothing, which isn't that bad. You can always have separate suits for Artisan and Chef, might be easier to manage your clothing slots that way.

Good luck and happy cookin'
