"Getting sick of it" might be a little too strong for me...but I am not happy about it either.

I personally will take petfood orders but I do not advertise that I do any pet food orders, they are just kind of boring.

What I find amusing is how much money so many creature handlers have.I'll beasked for pet food and I'll say I'll only do stewed gwouch because I need the experience. And they'll still buy the food, at a decent price for resources.

I think a big part of the problem is the quality of our food. It isn't good enough for players to want to buy it (in most cases). I have tended to think of it this way: If your food tastes like dog food (low quality), then people are going to only want it to feed it to their dogs. I think the heart of the problem is that our food sucks! Weak buffs, and too many negative effects make it not worth anyone's time.

I've made Starshine Suprises with 10 uses. You just need the engineering line along with domestic arts to get the needed points. The highest I've seen is a Dustcrepe with 11 uses.

Back on topic...

I wouldn't mind making pet food if...

1. The best wasn't the cheapest and lowest tiered item I can make. Pulling in tiny amounts of money and getting no chef XP isn't fun.

2. I could make crates of stuff with multiple uses. Hand grinding everyitem Iwant to sell is getting old real fast.

That's exactly what I do.. I'll make some food for people (ie. Tel noodles - experimented for high nutritional value, decent quantity,) with mybetter quality ingrediants, and then some for animals.. Often times just focusing on quantity... not being concerned with nutrion and flavor... often I throw in the real junky meat/hides I have in to this food... and it doesn't matter what I use... just as long as it's in a stack of 6+

Hm.. I can't get stacks of more then 9... perhaps that's just with the Domestic Arts line... (just a measly 11k xp in to the novice chef line)

Experimentation points in the DA line is affected by how far along you are in all artisan lines. So you can experiment to the best DA food unless you're master artisan.

hm, that really doesn't answer my question...

Can anyone (chef/non-chef) experiment quantityfrom the Domestic Arts line higher then 9.

I understand how experiment points work and blah blah blah.. (I know the max you can get is 10 experimenting points)

I don't believe it's all lines... just the line that gives you +experimentation...

I just toss all my "grinding" work on the vendor and price it to sell. I've got a few CH's that come by and buy all the cheap food even though it may be in stacks of 2 to 4. The credits I get for it is worth more than the 5% and I more than make up for the lost xp by not having to experiment during the grind. Most of my regular "people food" customers won't buy it because of the small stacks and low-buffs.

Cheers,
