Now, would you use these as they are now?

How about if there was a 100-200% increase in one stat?

Which food stats are most important to you? (Buff Amount, Filling, Time of Buff,or Quantity)?
Would you buy this food as it is now w/ no BE components or better resources if there was nothing else to be found?

What are the Top Ten of these foods for you?

Please List your Name, Server, In Game Professions, and when you started playing the game. General comments also welcome, but please try to stay on topic as much as you can.

My opinion: I rushed straight to Tilla-Tiil thinking you had finally found it . I can't wait to see what it does. As far as opinions on the new chef revamp, basically I think its all great (it could use some bigger buff sizes but its not integral) except for digestion. It should be 0 digestion time for stat buffs and 15 min digestion for skill buffs.

Reason:

Hate using other profession for examples but docs can do it. Im not asking for a doc nerf cause Id only be nerfing my own alt. But buffing should be on an equal playing field. The system needs reworking but digestion is not the way to do it. Also digestion will kill pre patch foods regardless if we can take it out of the crates with full charges or not. BoH lasts an average of 10 mins. Who wants to fill themselves up with it and not be able to use it again for 35 minutes. If digestion goes, I will welcome the revamp with open arms.

This thread is a good idea. Can we get it stickied?

I'm a chef, true, but also a pistoleer. I would use, and buy (if I had to) many of these buffs as they are I think. But obviously if they were better I wouldnt complain, and some really MUST be better

Top Ten:

Vasarian Brandy (until mind becomes less of an issue at least- smaller filling would be nice)

Blue Milk (as above)

Ormachek (a higher XP increase would be in order i think)

Halva (fine as is)

Garrmori (again much lower filling would be nice)

Citrus Snow Cake (seems very reasonable as is)

Deneelian Fizz Pudding (longer duration)

Smuggler's Delight (better reduction)

Flameout (more attacks please)

Bespin Port (ok this is here because i like the idea but we need better effects than this, seriously)

and a wafer thin mint please.

As a rifleman and CM I use a lot of mind but the main thing is that most of the mind use is from specials and that will be changed soon with the new combat system. The secondaries will havea greater effect than they do now so we wont have to buff them so high except to get armor on.

Food right now is overpowered. Sry but it is. Food is being used like potions in diablo 2. This is not want the devs intended. But I still think the new food looks great and cant wait for the changes. Chefs will be in great demand. I may even reroll my alt into a chef.

For my CM/Doc, the following effects look attractive:

  • The general mind buff (brandy)

  • Wound treatment (pre-battle buffing - assuming it stacks with +25 BE clothing)

  • Disease/Poison resists (if fighting another CM)

  • Fire resists (when fighting commandos)

  • Mind heal (emergency battle mind heal)

  • Heal recovery (potentially - not sure what this one does)

For my pure melee character:

  • General mind buff

  • Damage reducers (high % against commandos, low % for general use)

  • Ranged defense

  • Melee defense (primarily for PvE)

  • Unarmed damage

  • Mind heal

  • Def vs Dizzy

  • Def vs Knockdown

In the case of my CM, I'm not positive that the new buffs are more valuable than the old. For the melee character, the new buffs are far more useful, but that character has never been a huge user of mind like rifleman or heavy swordsman. I will be buying more foods as a result of this patch, though I can't be certain yet exactly which foods will prove most useful.

As a Zabrak Master Swordsman, I far prefer the new recipes. If you can pull the filling down on this

Vasarian Brandy
39/12/36/17
Mind, focus, willpower +136 for 33m30s
41
7

to 33, then you have a Swordsman winner. There are currently no useful Focus chef buffs (Corellian Ice Cream is not useful), so this will be great, 3 of these, and I have 1400 mind, 800 focus, and 1100 willpower for 33 minutes! If I can find some food to mix, I will be set with mind buffs for each hour.

As a Master Weaponsmith, I will be buying the experimentation and assembly drinks in large amounts.

As a pure combat character, I think Im already addicted (just by looking at them, no less!) to the idea of using the following:

Pikatta Pie/Air Cake - Im not sure if the lower filling on air cake will be the kicker here ( I want to eat this in combination with a Snythsteak)

Synthsteak - chefs everywhere might as well get started on this one...it may be the best food out there imo

Blue Milk - Whats not to like about a good mind heal?

While I think those will be the primary products I buy..I will also probably invest in the following as well:

Vasarian Brandy (mini-muon)

Breath of Heaven (despite what some say, this is still armor-on imo)

Flameout (for the grudge match that I absolutely have to win)

Bespin Port (everytime I hand krayt tissue or specials schematics to a weaponsmith, this is going with it)

The other crafting food (forgot its name, but same as above)

Im real excited about this revamp, cant wait for all of these new goodies!!!

And you can eat it twice so 800 to each stat if you *want* it to be. And you can eat it again when it wears off. No need to wait 20 mins.

I have 12 crates of foods in my backpack ATM on my main and 7 on my alt in addition to the 4-5 crates in each of the banks and 20 or so crates that i purchased as insurance against a nerf in hopes they will still work. That said i have read this list 4 times now looking at each food and thinking is that worth a spot in my inventory which can get very full with harvester resources weapons and crates of powerups already and only see 3 that i will even mess with at all and those are only situational tools.

They are blue milk, the incap reducer and the focus food. Currantly i use foods for my mainstay spices for backup and buffs when i have the time to waste to make the trip to find a doc. However if this Nerf goes live foods will be the situatial tool buffs will take there place and spices will still be the use it when a bars getting low tool cause a 3 min downer is much better than 40min of wait till my next meal

The only good thing about this is that i will save money cause i can get buffs cheap or free most of the time and spices i get a smugler friend to makea scematic for me and run them by the 1000 anyhow.

If i was still a weaponsmith i would use some of the assembly and experimentation foods for krayt and other enhanced weapons but only for the high end tissues cause for the rest of the stuff its not worth my time to with for the food to digest so every attemt can be made using foods cause even one failure can ruin some krayt weapons (the ones that are closer to the thoretical max values already do to ungated materials)

But with the inreased difficulty of killing dragons i doubt you can realy count on crafters to keep you in business with these foods considering that all classes, like yourself, make many scematics and keep only the best for the factory run so using foods on those combines is a simple waste cause i have 100k bricks of all the materials sitting there anyhow

Will you be using spices after the Imperial Crackdown (If your Rebel, you could lose your life to Storm troopers, if you're an Imp, you could lose rank).
