Just wondering, how are your sales since JTL went live? I haven't noticed a drop-off YET, but what are you guys experiencing?

My sales have dropped alot since release. But I expected this to happen. I think a better judge of how we are effected will be in a few weeks. I keep very careful tabs on my inventory and sales. I will be sure to post any negative trends I see.
Having said that I still firmly believe chefs and BEs as a whole are going to be wacked with this expansion. Hopefully some food/drinks will be added for pilots so we as crafters can add something to JTLS. It bothers me that food & drink has such an important role in the ground game and virtually nothing in the space game.
I know its twitch...blah blah blah. Thats not my problem, thats the Dev's problem.
Alot of FOTM chefs will quit all togethor from this and what we will be left with is one thing:
Those folks who truely wanted to be chefs.

One major problem with food and space is that the skill boxes have no stats to increase, its all on the ship.
Its a very disappointing outcome for the us, but i've got high hopes of the combat revamp making the ground game equally as good as jtl.

well maybe if they can program it where we can eat things on the ships that will benefit our ship in the sense that it is benefiting us. Food that will make your control the ship better so your sheilds will last longer or great a food that will can put in our food tank on our ships to make it cloaked, lol, would be so cool

A couple things that may be more useful in space than on the ground:
1) Ormachek: the xp bonus may be useful for the stages where you need to do a long-running mission to gain xp for a Pilot skill box. This isn't the norm, for many (most?) of the pilot skill boxes you do a series of missions and are granted a skill box by the trainer regardless of whether you have the earned xp or not.
2) Gornar: From some of the JTL stuff I've seen in passing, it's much easier to gain wounds by cloning in space. I'm not sure if this is due to a lack of space station cloning centers or what, but this food's wound reduction after cloning may have benefits.
Note: I'm not sure if either of those work in space or not. I didn't do much in the beta, and I haven't picked up the CD yet. Anyone with JTL done any testing?

I was thinking of something similar, a food that would perhaps increase the yaw/pitch stats on your engine giving the impression you are a better pilot, or a shield recharge rate incresing food, giving the efect that you can do repairs while fighting.
But the link between the stomach and ship equipment would be a hard one to set up i think, its like a food physically increasing the dmg of your weapon on the ground game, for example.

One thing about beta and foods is that they're not on the frogs, so they're very rare, and on the jtl no one made any that i knew of (i was using jtl as a break from chef so i'm not gonna start making stuff on it

I have a better solution. How about add some new recipes whose ingredients can ONLY be aquired in space. Like for example: Kessel Spice cake (no clue what it does yet) but privateer players have to complete a smuggling run to get the needed spice to create it.
Things like the former add content to the game. Imagine being a chef/privateer !!! This is just an example of a better way to integrate the ground game with the space game. Some new ground recipes that need rare components that maybe only a privateer can aquire

It seems to me like more of a mini game, then an expansion. I bet people will play it for a week or two, then it will be one of those things that are there, but not used so much.
Personally i found it brilliant fun, but i can understand how non space sim fans would tire of it quickly.

I truely beleive that the combat upgrade will be making alot of our current useless or unpopular foods very popular indeed. I'm using this time right now to catch up with demand (several high producing chefs recently quit on my server
) But, I expect sales to return to normal once people have reached their desired pilot skill level (master for some, 4444 for others).

Thats also what i'm anticapating, and hopefully the sandbox will reveal more as time goes on.
One thing i've been almost certain of is that the other stat buffing food's and drink other than mind buffs will become much more widely needed and used.
