A person named Doc Hollandiase finally made the greatest pricing guide of all time. It's a miracle that someoen actually has something everyone can go by. It can be found at http://www.thehegemon.com/chefpricing.htmbut I decided to make a more organized format of this. Please note that each price is PER CHARGE so 2 charges would be double the price.

I tried the per charge system once... it confused people to hell and back. They didn't understand why they bought one thing and it was less than the other thing *boggle*

I just got sick of explaining it and made everything have the same charges

THOUGH, when I look at this guide, I'm charging about the same considering how many uses I get on my items

There's a guy on our server who's selling Tatooine Sunburns for 95cr/charge and I don't know how the heck he survives off of that... the darn things take 100 materials to make and the gas I was purchasing was at 6cr per because it was over 900 quality.

my guess is he had a good sized gas harvester.. would be possible to charge that low of a price, but it would be severly hurting your profit margin... until my other food sells as good as that does then I would consider bringing it more in line with my other prices. But for now... supply and demand.

When I was starting out and didn't know what I should be charging (andwith no other chefson my planet ) I asked an architect-in-training friend. He had asked around his architect acquintances and they were basing their %markup off the average costto buyresources. When I was playing Dark Age of Camelot, that's how I priced my prices for weapons and tailoring (Legendary Grandmaster /flex), so it seemed reasonable to follow their strategy in SWG.

I am still inching towards master (Mix 2, Cooking 4, Entrees 3.5), and the only thing that Icharge per use for so far are the Tatooine Sunburns.

There's people on my server who charge less than me, ppl who charge exactly the same as me and ppl who are charging higher.

So it seems that there are different pricing strategies being used in SWG.There were/are different pricing strategies in Dark Age too, and I think what it comes down to is this:

Use the price system that works the best for your personality style and the way you like to play the game.

And recognize that what works for you may not work for someone else.

Cheers

For the record, That's not my 'other account' giving me praise.

That price guide was strictly a starting point for discussion, and something I thought I could stick with. Liv's had problems with people paying per charge, I've had more problems with charging people the same for a 4 stack and an 8 stack. There's room enough for both methods.

250/charge on Sunburns meant I was selling packs of 100 charges of sunburn for 25K. That rate even occasionally made me feel guilty. Assuming an average of 5 charges a stack, it's 20 stacks of sunburn, that's 2000 resources... that's 12.5credits/resource, quite a hefty markup from the roughly 3cr/resource I typically paid at the Coronet bazaar (A wretched hive of scum and villainy). If it was higher, I just didn't buy.

Thanks for the support Eminem, I never thought it'd come from you!

Untill they fix factorys and I can stop having to make everything by hand no mark up is to big.
Icould chage 2400 for my stacks of 8 sunbuns. Which means I would be making 24credits per resouce.

Wow, that's quite a list! Just out of curiousity, does anyone knowhow Doc Hallandaise (a great name if I ever saw one) came up with the list? Was it some deep mathematical function involving resources, buff size, buff duration, and proximity of mars; pulled out of thin air; or (most likely) somewhere in between? Or are these prices just what sells well in his particular server'seconomy?

I like the "per charge" idea, I've been pricing sunburns at 300 per charge, but haven't gotten around to doing that with the other food. That was mostly just because I only recently hit cooking II, and now have enough experimentation points to actually affect the outcome. Previously I was lucky to get two additional charges using up all my experimentation on quantity; yes, all three! =)

Heh, Id love to be able to sell at those prices

I sell Ormacheck at 250 per STACK, Tat sunburns 300-800 (3-9 charges) a stack. Hreath of Heaven 650 a stack etc.

At those prices, I can make just enough to run my house, factory, harvies and faction base

Here are a few of my prices on items I sell regularly, the price listed below is the final price, I don't charge by use anymore.

  1. Breath of heaven (3000call stack sizes are 4+)

  2. Veghash (900c 7+ stack size)

  3. Ormachek (1500c 7+ stack size)

  4. Corellian Fried Icecream (1120c 5+stack size)

  5. Angerian Fishak Surprise (3000c 6+ stack size)

Tatooine sunburn is the only thing I still sell on a per charge basis, and I sell sunburn at 2700 credits for a stack of 9, and STILL can not keep them in stock.

Oddly enough, even though my stuff, especially for the artisan items, is priced a lot lower than Doc's list, I charge more for sunburns.

Prices for both resource materials and finished products seem to vary widely from server to server, and planet to planet. I'd kill to buyresources at only 3c per Even the really crappy gas sells at 10c per on my server. So that may explain the variance

There are ppl on my server charging 1000/use and 600/use. I charge 500/use and sell a lot. I think the lowest I've ever seen it on the bazaars has been 400/use. I based my price on what I heard here on the forums and it seems to be working fine for me. I give a 10% discount for bulk orders which brings it down to 450.

Demand is based on knowledge. You talk to one person about how great they are, give them a free sample, and they're pretty much hooked. And word of mouth spreads fast.

Just posting what works best for my personality on my particular server - there's room for everyone's ideas here Doc.

Wow, I am giving my stuff away. Thank you for the info, I was selling BoH (5) for 450 total. No wonder I had so many sold so fast.
