I will agree with you that it is INSANE how chef's over price stuff but it is no different than the Creature Mount patch and the recent patch for Vehicle Customization. Each patch brings more people to find something that everyone wants and charge a obscene amount to buy it. I was on maybe 5 minutes after the Gorath server came up and noticed right away how insane it was to get your vehicle customized (one person was shouting 12K for a kit that can be used 7 times) I mean come on I spent 35K on my swoop so IF I had bought that kit for 12K I would have spent 23K LESS than I did on my swoop just to customize it, now that also is INSANE. On the Chef's side I know it takes a long time to find the BE enhancements for the food, I spent over 6 hours one day trying to find some and never did due to there were no BE that were making it. The micronutrients add to the food and make it better in how much it helps and makes the time it last's a lot longer so say that reg Brandy add's +100 to all mind for 15 m 0s if you use a really good enhancement it will add say +300 for 35m 0s. The enhancement makes a big difference in the food you make and all around makes it better.

Very nice musing. As usual another BE that doesnt know **edit** hes talking about. Despite the BE thinking hes entitled to half of what the chef makes.. You guys still havent got it through your fat skulls. Regular brandy is not made the same as the brandy we use for BE stuff. We use casks for that not small glass which meamany more resources and parts bought from tailors. We use additional ingredients because your supplements arent usable to us...yet another factory run. You guys keep saying well its 40k for this and 200k for this. You are comparing apples to oranges are all to freaking stubborn to get your heads out of yer BE money hog guide to see it. Im sorry that your class cant grasp the simple concept that your work is yours. You sell your work. I buy your work. I do whatever I want with your work after that and its none of your freaking business. I dont think I own my customers for them buying my food. You base your work on what YOU think YOUR work is worth. Not what you think I think MY work is worth. If you want to raise your price, then raise it and in turn Ill either buy it or tell you to get lost. You guys have no freaking clue what you are talking about and just jump to conclusions that are totally inappropriate. You want to know what I charge for my BE enhanced Casked Brandy.. 150k a crate. Because I dont believe in gouging my customers. You know what the result of that is. Mass frustration because my BE thinks that somehow his piddly 1 factory run is worth more than my food. It obviously hasnt come to your attention yet, but you guys make COMPONENTS for us not the final product. Your final product is Pets and Pet stims. And you have the nerve to come here and call chefs greedy? Your 500 meat that you think made you god has a value of 5k to me. You guys seem to think that chefs have never had to deal with meat before. Weve all used it and in large amounts and we know its value. Just because you put 500 meat into a crate doesnt mean you own me or that you have knowledge about my profession or my costs to do my profession. All in all the Chef/BE relationship would be a lot better if BEs would stop thinking they know everything about chef when they obviously dont know **edit** they are talking about. As much as I hate this revamp, the thing I hate most about it is the greed emanating from 80% of the BEs. You guys arent chefs. Why dont you stick to making tissues and selling them for what you think they are worth instead of worrying about what Im doing. Or at least take the time to educate yourself before you go jumping to conclusions that chefs are the greedy ones. 1 crate of small glasses costs me 784 credits to MAKE. 1 crate of Casks costs me 12,000 credits to MAKE. Excuse me for thinking that I should be allowed to charge the difference when I put that cask on my enhanced brandy and glasses on the other. And again, excuse me for thinking that I might make a little more profit off making those casks than making those glasses. Oh and lets not forget the extra 3,500 credits worth of water that I use per crate to make your supplements into something I can use. And yea Ill just eat the factory maintenance and power for making all these little "extras". Sure 150k-40k = how much Im chargiing for BE supplements.Only to someone looking to make a fortune and too ignorant to educate themselves about what they are talking about. And for your information, you BE enhancements only cost more to make than the food they go in if we happen to be making like bofa treats or some crap. Drinks are 2 factory runs of alcohol, 1 factory run of trim or bought from a tailor, 1 factory run to make casks, 1 factory to make additives from supplements, 1 final factory run. Not what you stated they are. Once again, your lack of knowledge on which you base chefs to be the greediest people in the galaxy is profound. Maybe youd just like an atm card to my bank. I know.. Ill give you free access to my flora, my bank, my factories, my power, my final product...oh and how much more do I owe you after that for your "component".

No need to flame you.

Your math skills stink, your attitude stinks, and what you dont realize is thatn every step of in-game time used to craft any crafting profession is timed that could be used by combat classes to earn the same doing missions.

Boneheads like yourself probably prace around stating you can earn 100-200k an hour doing missions. That's great. You should pay 300k for a crate of brandy which grants you unlimted 800 will/mind/focus when stacked for 8.2 DAYS if you played 24/7.

21 stack, 400 buff, 45 min, crate of 25.

Have a nice day, and thanks for your input. I'm sure every chef across all galaxies appreicate your insight and infinite wisdom.

I know you guys aren't greedy... well not all of you.. but doing some math on the components and what is paid there is still a HUGE profit for every single case...

Should you profit from your work.. sure you should...

From those who actually have to spend the most time getting ingredients (ala killing critters, or milking them)... I prob spend the MOST time in the process... and get the LEAST profit... but then again i'm not in it for the profit...

Chef's have gone from a 'forgotten class' to a 'money maker' in one patch... and as such many feel they are getting their 'just due' for all of their hard work (and darn it you guys HAVE worked hard)... but remember those who collect your goodies are also the ones who USE your goodies... so ... just keep that in mind...

Greedy? no more than anyone else... BUT you guys (the whole profession NOT individuals.. as on an individual count this does NOT apply) have changed your attitudes... and are MUCH less friendly...

Chef's (as a profession) have gone from 'corner bakers looking to make money AND help' to 'used car dealers who want to make as much as possible on EVERY transaction'...

You have two issues here:

Selling schematics I agree 100k for a schematic of additives is low. I completely disagree with people selling schematics for less than 40 percent of the cost of final product. I wouldn't do it for less than 50 percent myself.

Your other issue is pure greed, if you want to sell brandy be a chef. If you want to mark your product up to 100k or 200k go ahead. If you want to demand a share of my profits get lost.

Anyway the patch has made food such a pain to make I'm not sure why still bother.

Just thought that I would let you guys know. I posted this in a response to Chefs being greedy on the BioEngineer threads. Educating them seems to make no difference. This whole revamp has just been a marriage of bad ideas and attitudes in my opinion.

My retort to Chef's are just plain Greedy:

This topic was brought up on our (Chef) forums, and I guess that I could say that I am not surprised to see this topic here...

There's three perspectives to this issue. The Chef perspective, the BioEngineer perspective, and the Consumer perspective. I need you to keep all three of these in mind. I am going to be explaining how this affects the production and sale of 40 crates of Vasarian Brandy - as this is the hot seller at the moment.

BIO ENHANCED VASARIAN BRANDY

1. BioEngineer: Devotes enormous amount of time/energy to gather the resources to create 40 crates worth of BioEnhanced Tissue.

2. BioEngineer: Runs schematic through the factory.

3. BioEngineer: Sells 40 crates of BioEnhanced Tissues to Chefs at whatever is deemed to be a fair price to both BioEngineer and Chef.

4. Chef: Gathers 20,020 Berries and 20,020 Fruit with high PE/OQ/DR.

5. Chef: Gathers 150,150 Non-Ferrous Metals. Gathers 20,020 Water (quality does not matter)

6. Chef: Purchases or manufactures 80 crates of Trim (Tailor Schematic)

7. Chef: Manufactures Schematic for Bio-Enhanced Additive (BioEnhanced Tissue = 20 Water) to manufacture 40 crates of BioEnhanced Additives.

8. Chef: Creates Barrel Schematic (150 Non-Ferrous Metal + 2 Identical Trim) and manufactures enough for 40 crates of Barrels.

9. Chef: Creates Vasarian Brandy Schematic (20 Fruit + 20 Berries + 1 Barrel + BioEnhanced Additive) and then manufactures enough for 40 crates worth of Vasarian Brandy.

10. Chef: Places finished product on vendor for sale.

NON-BIO ENHANCED VASARIANBRANDY

1. Chef: Gathers 20,020 Berries and 20,020 Fruit withhigh PE/OQ/DR.

2. Chef: Gathers 10,000 Gemstone.

3. Chef: Creates Small Glass Schematic (10 Gemstone) and manufactures 40 crates of small glasses.

4. Chef:Creates Vasarian Brandy Schematic (20 Berries+ 20 Fruit + Small Glass) and then manufactures enough to make 40crates worth.

5. Chef: Places finished product on vendor for sale.

CONSUMER SEES THIS

Regular Vasarian Brandy +6 Charges single +225 Mind, Focus, Willpower for 40m Filling 50, 75k Crate

BIOENGINEER SEES THIS

BioEnhanced Vasarian Brandy300kcrate

Regular Vasarian Brandy 75k Crate

"Where's my mark up?"

"Damn, you Chef's are greedy!"

CHEF SEES THIS

"Hey Dude, can you make me some more BioEnhanced Vasarian Brandy? I need 90 crates for my Guild. Can I get that byFriday?"

"There is no way that us BioEngineers should not be raking in 50%of the profit for the use of our BioEnhanced Tissues. These Chefs are just plain greedy."

"Why do I need to catermy BioEngineering services to Chefs, when Creature Handlers and Tailors will pay me more for my services?"

AND WHAT ENDS UP HAPPENING IS THIS

Account #1 Chef

Account #2 BioEngineer

And that is what SOE has been playing for all along. Profit Margin. Welcome to corporate America.

Lol, I was hoping to create some controversy ! Looks like I failed...

Keep in mind that my entire rant is about: "So Chef's want to buy BE schematics, yeah ?", which I feel is a ripp-off, considering the price paid for the benefit gained. Am I wrong ?

My pricing example is based on a 1000 CASK run, and my material costings are based on my own extensive experience of harvesting flora and energy. If my whole pricing formulais so terribly wrong, show me (and all those who read this) by providing a clear example.

I apologise for the "sell me a Brandyschematic" line, that was gutter-press tactics, and u are right to burn me for it.

I would just like to say, for 8 months+ I have sold at VERY low rates, while I watch almost all other crafters charge massive amounts for their products.
Many of my items sold at a lower price per unit used than I'd get selling on the Bazaar, yet some people still called me expensive.

Now, I NEED BE additives to compete. I have tried, and tried to get a BE to supply me with ANY quantity, and failed, so my only option is to get the resources myself, and make the additives from a schematic - now, the BE is getting paid for 1minutes work, thats it. He doesn't have to go buy the resources or harvest, he doesnt have to use up his factory time making the additives, he simply has to make me a schematic.
As a Chef, is anyone asked me to make a schematic, I did it and asked for a "fair" donation.

The BE in your scenario is getting 100k for 1min work, the chef is probably going to be running factories for 5 days to use those additives up in Vasarians, so I think 100k per minute is a better ratio

I would give my right arm to get a supplier of additive, but the simple fact is BE's are snowed under with making pets, pet stims and keeping tailors supplied, never mind adding 1000 additives every 3 days to the list.

Blame the devs for implimenting a reliance on an overworked and underplayed profession.

One last thing, get 1000 Medium Food additives (not BE additives, this is the final stage one - so 1000 BE additives and 20,000 water), 1000 casks (thats 150,000 gems and 2000 trim btw), 2000 alcohol, 20,000 fruits and 20,000 berries, and I'll make you a schematic for 100k, after all, you make them in your factories, it leaves me to sell my resources at 6cpu on teh bazaar for a bigger profit than Im making on my brandy, as it also leaves me 5 days to go out and do missions, at 100k an hour.
