Thread: question about additives

once you take a BE additive, and turn it into the chef food additive, whether it being heavy / medium / small, does it have expiremental value, or any type of values at all?? in other words, the qualities of everything going inot the be tissue stuff, will affect the outcome of the chef additive.. i've read it takes 15 water, 1 tissue to make a medium additive, is that 15 water / 1 tissue something i'd have to make a factory run of? that is why i'm wondering if i need to worry about the quality of the be stuff or not..

There's no experimentation done on the additive, only the tissue, so the quality of the water you use makes no difference. The additive will have the exact same properties as the tissue you put into (making me wonder why we have to bother with this step at all).

I haven't tested personally, but I would assume that if you want to make a factory run of enhanced foods, you'll need a factory run of tissues, run those through to get a factory run of additives so that you have identical crates of additives to go through the factory run of the final product.

phew, ok, that took alot of worry off my shoulders thanks a bunch, i got like 11k of this avian meat that's the best creature food i've ever seen, and is going for 125cpu in shift right now, since i'm not a doc, i'm either gonna use it in be additives or (most likely) sell it and buy some good meat of another type...

when I make for instance casks, I have to buy 1000 trims from a tailor and then use one of them for the schem so I can only get 999 casks from my factory, then I need one of these casks for the schem so I can only make 998 brandies, how do you guys do this?

Sorry, I've read this three times, and still can't figure it out:

What the heck are you asking?

I'll cover what I can, though.

First off, casks require 2 trim, so 1000 trim = 499 casks (after using two for the schematic)

Second, casks don't have to be factory identical, so that's not a limiting factor on the size of a brandy run. However, brandy requires two identical alcohol, so a 1000 run of alcohol = 499 run of brandy (after using two for the schematic).

As for additives (trying desperately to tie your post into your title), if you have a 1000 run of tissue (whichcan be tough to get due to needing 20k meat), you need to make that into an additive, which comes out as a 999 run of additives. Then an additive gets used up making the final food schematic, so at most you can only make a 998 run of a food, and that's only if it doesn't use multiple identical subcomponents.

Is that even close to what you were looking for?

You get them by combining a light, medium, or heavy bio-engineer tissues with water and bake in your oven at 350 degrees.

The bio-engineer has to combine 20K of meat with a bunch of flora or wood and let gel in his clone tanks for days. It takesa stupidly long time to make one complete run of chef tissues. By the way, the resources that go into making these tissues are worth more by themselves than they are as a finished BE product. This may explain why chef tissues can be difficult to find.

Oh, and don't sweat the one star. The star system is juvenile at best. The star system is for those people that can't form an opinion or would rather just hide behind their computer and click on a star.

Hi there chefs!

Iam a master artisan, and plan to try making some artisan foods.I wanted to get an idea whatI am looking for when I shop for"light food bio additive." I know that BE's make this, but I have not found anything by this name on any vendors yet. Are there other names for it, i.e., specific subtypes?

What do the Flavor, Quality and Nutrition experimentation aspects actually change in the food product?

Also, if you happen to know any BE's on Ahazi who make/sell this, I would appreciate a referral.

There are four different types of "light bio component", used in the "light additive" schematic. These are the actual tissue names, any of them will fill that slot:

  • Micronutrient supplement: increase buff size (nutrition experimentation category) 30-60% (bonuses in the mid 50s are most common).

  • Multisaccharide Dimate: increase buff duration (flavor experimentation category) 10-30%

  • Carboreductive Catalyst: decrease filling 5-15%.

  • Hyper Yeast Additive: incrase stack size (quantity experimentation category) 100-200%

You get the most bang-for-your-buck using the nutrition additive, although there may be foods that can get some benefit from the others that we haven't discovered yet. The percentage increase is above what the final stat would be given the category experimentation. So if you experiment Bofa Treats to 75% Nutrition, you get a buff of +53 Health. Craft an additive wiht a 55 bonus Micronutrient, and use that with the Bofa treat will give you +82 Health at 75% Nutrition experimentation: 53 base * (1 + 0.55).
