it really is anyone's guess as to how the devs will impliment the skill point reallocation. i have a char with only master commando on one server, and my main char that is fs with which i have only mastered a handfull of professions.
if they make it so you can only go back to proffessions you have had before, i'd be surprised. maybe i can make my secondary toon into a purely ranged fighter, a master commando/pistoleer or something cool like that.
i'll be waiting eagerly for details like everyone else..

I seriously would grind out a toon on another server if you wanna try some different things. There is no telling what they're gonna come up with on the skill reallocation. From experience, I don't think its gonna be what we think it is.

Here is what I know about the respec (all from various things the Devs have said...nothing is guarenteed until it's live):
- It will be aONE time thing per character but can be used at anytime (so you can save it)
- You can only reallocated the number of skill points you've already spent (so if your character has only spent 15 skill points, that's all you get to reallocate).
- All templates will be able to reallocate their skill points any way they want (entertainer or medic templates will not be blocked from reallocating points into combat professions for example).
- Jedi abilities will NOT be reallocated.
As soon as I hear more I'll let you know. Remember, as I said above, this info is always subject to change as we get closer to the end of the CU and as the Devs gather more player input. Nothing is guarenteed.

A while back I read something on the forums about after the CU the devs are going allow all players a 1 time only chance to reallocate all there skill points. Is this true or is it just wishful thinking on my point. Reason being is I am wanting to try out a couple other professions but don't want to give up master commando if they do not allow it. Thanks in advance.

It's true but how they are going to do it is a mystery. They'll nerf it some how. You may want to grind out a toon on another server to try out your other Professions. That way you'll have 2 Commandos to play.

Thank you all for your input. I know it's not gaurnteed but I think i am going to give up at least a little bit of my commando for the time being cause i still have an itch for creature handler and gave it up for commando. I might as well scratch it now while I am waiting for the CU even if they don't allow reallocating of SP's I will definatly be back to Master Commando soon after the CU. Thanks again everyone.

let's hope that the DEVs keep in mind to not allow reallocation into the village skills.

Im gunna go and make a charicture on every server and fill each up with as many easy skill points as i can
Artisan, Medic (if i can find some one whoe tumbling or something) Marksman and scout (exept the camping part)
That should fill me up on Skill points, and after CURB I will have a full combat or anything else charicture on every galaxy.
MAUAHAHHAAHAAHAHAAAAA
Master SW for free MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Better yet I should be able to do this with the free 75k that SOE gave out to every one with JTL

I get the feeling that you may not be totally serious, but I'll mention this for everyone else considering doing the same...you do so at your own risk because nothing is guarenteed...it came up awhile back that folks might try this and the Devs are already considering it in the way they set up the respec system...
For all we know the devs may change their minds and only allowskillpts spent in combat professions to be re-allocated...So, while it doesn't hurt to have characters ready on various servers, be aware that you may end up disappointed...just a word of warning so you aren't caught by surprise.

Me feels so honored to be directly quoted by a Corispondent
/bow3
But it would not bother me at all if I did not get to use those toons on other galaxys.
75K of free creditsI would not have used other wise and 2-4 hours of grinding per galaxy, no biggy
The reward would be well worth it if it I did get SWG filled with Masters
Hmmmm.................... Wonder what I could sell an account with a master on every server for......................./ponder

Not much...for a Jedi yeah, but the devs have seen through you and saw how you think...No Jedi skills will be relocated...*chants Nay-nay-nay!*

Yeha but most the accounts that have sold that were non-jedi are from people who are leaving the game, Thus they have one main server which is a master and undeveloped other ones.
This account would have a master on every single server, so you can join in with friends who already have the game no matter what server they are on.

Looks like things have already changed from what I posted earlier...this taken from the recent dev chat:
<^J^> *Quantix* Alright, Combat Revamp! The question I am going to ask to make sure is the reconversion question. Along what lines are things going to be converted? Like for instance, just combat skills? Things such as crafting, Investigation line of BH, and Smuggler slicing should not be allowed to be gained during the conversion. Also Jedi were promised a reconversion and told later no. Alot of the old timers like me are frustrated
<Keldarin> Character respec with Combat Upgrade will only be for skills that are significantly impacted by the CU. You will be able to respec combat skill and not crafting or other non-combat skills.
<Keldarin> Jedi skills are tough and it will depend on how significantly the skills are actually changes. Minor balance shifts will not need a respec but significant changes to power organization will.
