Thread: The call of the Force is strong....

Well, since the CU, I've been playing around with combat and finding that TKM (plus some swordsman for the damage specials) really fits my play style. The CU made it easier to tell what I can take, more tactical choices with action usage, and IMO more fun than the previous system of "get uber composite + doc buffs". I may not have the most devasting template for soloing, but it does make it easier to not die, always a bonus. As my technique improved, I decided to check out some of the more dangerous areas that I could never really handle before. So the other day I finally went through the Warren and completed delivery of the evidence to Captain Heff last night.

Then I remembered that those badges were part of the requirements for force sensitivity, so for the first time in a long while I did /checkForce.

"You glow with the power of the Force" (or whatever the message is).

Um.....yay?

I've gotten as much combat level as I can with my current skills. I've dropped scout (hunting was the real reason I even had any combat skills to start with), merchant (keeping only Business IV for my two locations and 250 items), and all the engineering line of Artisan. I was planning on this just being a temporary thing, and regaining those skills back after hitting a couple more dungeons. But I found within myself a desire to see the village of Aurillia. But I'm a solo player, always have been, and to even get to the village will require more firepower (not to mention eventually doing the FS quests). And the only skills left to drop....are my chef boxes.

I've got a +20 experimentation suit, so I can drop Master and still be an 11 point chef. And drink sales have been slow, so I could free up another 14 points by dropping the Mix branch. But there is that fear that once I start on this path, "forever will it consume my destiny".

Eh, I'm not even sure why I felt the need to post this. I'll still be hanging around this forum, and it's not like I'm actually forgetting how to play chef, so I can still help out the newbies. That always stokes my ego as a know-it-all. And one way or another, I know I'll be back in the kitchen. I'll either regrind chef with Kriles after deciding that the way of the Jedi isn't for him (although I would like to get my hands on those force experimentation skills), unlock a second character slot who'll take over the family business, or maybe just start over on another galaxy.

And for any chefs on Chilastra: no, you can't have my stuff.

hehe, just wait til next publish when they'll invariably screw up the servers and have to give us double xp again. double xp cuts the crafting time for that tree down to about 6-7 hours (as opposed to 24-28)

best of luck with jedi tho

Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny! I suppose combat is the main focus of SWG now anyways... I'm having a hard time myself selling stuff, the crates are just accumulating on my vendor.

M carb, M chef 3/0//0/0 Merch, 1/0/2/0 Scout, 0/4/04/0 Artisan luck 2 here Kriles.

Get a little pet, and take on all kinds of mobs. I am debating dropping Merch to Novice, and getting 3 more boxes of Scout, for more XP bank possible.

Any Single Master elite can do alright, against mobs of his/her level.

why not group? perhaps the chef duo? you bring the beer Ill bring the burgers?

Oh, I know that. I've been picking my battles since the CU hit, and have gotten pretty good against even my CL +2 or +3 (as long as there aren't too many of them). The question is: what level are the enemies I'd have to deal with in the Village quests(and the Sith ambush/camp to get there in the first place)?

I'm certainly not going to be a "power grinder" even once I get to the village. I'll stick with my current combat template (M chef + TKM + 1003 swordsman, CL 59) unless it turns out to just not be enough.

Out of curiousity, how effective are pets nowadays? I don't need a tank, what's a good choice for damage output? BE creature? Droid? Faction pet?

Well, I might make an exception for you. You were always much cooler than Bliz or Odds.

She quit about a year ago. It was a sad passing. I saw her about 10 mins before she was gone forever.

Hehe, I did not see your sig before my last post. I have a bottle of your "fuzzy Mind Blowing Pickles" from Forever ago. You were who I used as my judge ifI was making good foods waay back. Does this mean your site will be comming back? I loved that menu you had.

The site will come back probably this weekend, but I won't have nearly as much stuff on it as I used to, because everyone but me has permanently left the game.

My fiancé is playing with me now though, so he'll be a shipwright and smuggler. We should have ship components and spice in there starting this weekend (hopefully).

I'm not planning on playing as hardcore as I once did. Also, since players search for specific food names, I can't rename my foods anymore. I may as a joke for some older clients trickling back in though.

But the site won't be on www.banthamart.com ... it'll be on www.fiercekitten.com/banthamart/ and it's up now, but none of the links work.
