Wow what an eye-opener I had no idea the level of meta-cognition going on behind these forums. I could relate to much of the description of the troll. lol bulls-eye.
"Nasty loser with a stinking life that has nothing better to do." lol omg

Ask GarVa
Seriously, GarVa would point you to a sticky thread in the Community Relations forum if I remember correctly.
But to summarize:
- grinding post count ("oh, interesting!" posts just to get one more post)
- posting non-constructive and non-helpful posts ("stupid idea." without any reason given why it is stupid)
- starting flames, name calling and such ("Jedi suck" post by BH in Jedi forum)
- trying to "own" the forum front page by starting or bumping as many threads as possible in a short period of time
- some other stuff, cant recall currently.

What the duck is trolling?
The term is frequently used to discredit an opposing position in an argument. This can amount to an ad hominem argument; a purported troll of this nature may actually hold an insightful but controversial position that is generating controversy precisely because it has successfully challenged entrenched opinions.
