That depends on how you grind armorsmith. Compared to an armorsmith with a source of synthcloth and fiber panels, chef probably takes longer. If you only consider items that can be made with only your class's schematics, the armorsmith grind is worse (since you're stuck with upgrade kits and ubese shirts). The chef xp requirements are lower, IIRC, but then the best grind items give 73xp (Wastril bread at Novice) and 178 (Ithorian Mist at Mix II).

I did some comparisons a few weeks ago, because my Xmas holo told me armorsmith. Fortunately, I found a tailor on Naboo who stocks crates of synthcloth, so once I get some "free time" (I seem to remember having that once, sometime just before I got a vendor...) I should be able to grind through somewhat quickly.

Worked armorsmith for a bit a month or two ago, and chef is harder. I wasn't "grinding" armor, I would make 6 sets of mabari, have my GF slice it, then put it up on the bazaar. It would sell out in 3-4 days, and I would make more to put up. I was seeing SERIOUS usage xp from this, which is why I say chef is harder: all your exp will be from making food, armor will get you some uxp if you sell it.

not hard, just takes a while as they said above.

if u have money go get some harvesters for wheat, corn and water and set them up some time before you start. then use macros. i first didn't think they would make it any faster, but they do..BIG TIME!!

Byuing everything you need for crafting on the bazaar is way to expensive and if you take care of your harvesters you have them forever and they may earn you money for as long as you play the ame. a good investment

I ground out chef before medium and large harvestors were even around, so I have a demented and skewed view.

Took me about 10 hours after running around frantic looking for corn for about 30 minutes to finish the last 3k xp.

I remember putting on the master chef tag and actually having someone say, "there's a chef profession?"

It takes only 9 hours if you have all the ingredients? Wow, my perception is also horribly skewed.

I startedChef shortly after launch and it took me about 2 months to hit master. I couldn't give food away so I made all my money selling metal on the bazaar at 2-3 cpu, and definitely not in lots of 1000lol. All I did for the longest time was survey for materials with no macroing until I got enought engineering to put up small harvesters lol. And then I finally hit Mix 2. Ah the good 'ol days.
