Thread: Regen Foods

DO THESE WORK ?

This is an extremely important question and my experience in the field to date is that it does not. A full action bar takes the same to recharge whether I have Action Regen food or spice versus having nothing.

If the REGEN number is meaningless and has no effect on the character then that would explain why experimenting does not affect the REGEN number. In fact, REGEN stats are not affected by any additive.

This probably means that flavour and filling additives are best but it also means CHEF is pretty borked.

Anyone got the official scoop on this ? I have been a chef for a long time, supplying cheap foods to my guildies and now I am considering dropping it and it is not clear if this is the way it is intended or bugged. I dont want to stock up vendors and then have a patch nerf all my foods like the CU - did.

Once bitten - twice shy

Thanks

A little more on this, and as you can see I am mighty confused.

Eating some food/drinks after others can result in loss of the boost to stats given by previous food.

An example. Eat vagnarian canape ( +325 Health, +200 Mind Regen, +50 Health Regen ) then drink Accaragam ( +45 Health Regen, +200 Action Regen, +200 Mind Regen )

The net result is that you have only the accaragam buff after. The vagnerian is still there in terms of filling your stomach but the buff is gone. THE HEALTH BUFF IS BLOWN AWAY.

Also, regen seems that once u consume a food or drink which awards a +200 REGEN bonus you cannot consume any food ro drink which gives any bonus to the same HAM REGEN.

This means for any of H,A,M you can have a maximum of +200 REGEN bonus. But +200 regen appears to make no difference under the clock.

So buff foods are totally pointless ? Bug or Intended feature ?

I can tell no difference between +200 action regen, and no food at all. It takes the same number of specials to bring my action to zero.

Good point brought up here, I've been silently wondering if the regens work at all. If they are indeed working, Devs, give me a reason to eat the regen food I make, and up the effects!!

Its not a action reduction food its a regen food. You are testing it wrong try draing action all the way and seeing how long it takes to fill back up. It makes a huge diffrence.

The regen appears to have no effect. I am trying to get some official word here.

if you empty your action bar and time how long it takes to recharge food/spicemakes no diff.

As for eating canape and then drinking accragam - the canape buff is wiped out. Why ? intended or not ?

!! THIS IS A CATASTROPHE !!

Jeez..SoE, what the....i cant believe that.

No offense, but i really ask you to HOTFIX THIS IMMEDIATLY!

/SteamMood_off

Ok...i just read this topic and thought "WTH...", so i logged in my toon and tested this:

Test made with "Breath of heaven" and "Brandy".

Tests:
1. Pistoleer draining (due to combat) action down to 40%
No food taken

2. Pistoleer draining (due to combat) action down to 40%
Breath of heaven taken but weapon NOT reequipped after/before food.

3. Pistoleer draining (due to combat) action down to 40%
Breath of heaven taken but weapon WAS reequipped after/before food.

Results (give or take 1-2 seconds)

Time for Action recharging from 40% to 100% according to TEST1: 20 seconds (3% per second)

Time for Action recharging from 40% to 100% according to TEST2: 20 seconds (3% per second)

Time for Action recharging from 40% to 100% according to TEST3: 20 seconds (3% per second)

The same "testseries" with Brandy, absolutely same result.

SOE, WHAT IS GOING ON HERE ?!

Isnt it enough, that 6 of 10 professions are MAJORLY broken ("unmajorly" even more) ?

What are you doing to this game ?

Where is the problem?
Do you need more manpower, more time, a different management OR WHAT IS IT?

Please tell us what your problem, i am so VERY sure, that the whole community will help and support whatever is needed, and if it is a completely stop of every addition, just for the sake of a general gamer-overhaul/fixing.

BUT THIS IS ENOUGH, THIS MAY NOT CARRY ON LIKE THIS!

Gosh...i logout now...im MORE then upset about this.

"Food not working...degenerated to decorating-goods or placebos...." - I CANT BELIEVE THIS.

This is a professionbreak like we never (or almost never) saw before. EVERYTHING COMING OUT OF THE CHEFs OVEN IS WORTHLESS !

FIX THIS IMMEDIATLY PLEASE !

Is tehre any way they could change it so we can see what difference it makes? I mean using actual numbers to reflect this.

Mind you melee/ranged def is bugged (not just the foods) so what difference does it make...

Om not pretty sure, if the +200 is acting like percentage, like it is on other items (any1?).

But IF it is that way, or at least MEANT to be that way, it would simply say "200% faster regen".

So, we have 3% per second.
100% better would be 6%.
200% should be (no, not 12...) 9%.

So..lets see.
Our action is 3K (100%)
The kill i did while testing drained me down to 40% (1.2K), used only specials on a 59 SAC wep (or was it the 74 SAC ? Hmm....)

Anyway, lets say "worse case":
74 per special, Adrenabuff, 1.5 speed (X40% adrena)=0,9 sec per move. Cap is 1.0, so 1 second/shot

1 second = -74 action points

We regenerate 9% (IF it would work like intended) from 3K, soo 270 points.

Hmm...am i right here ?
That WOULD mean, our action is simply not draining due to combat, cuz we shoot off 74 actionpoints per second while reg. 270 points same time. This would be a "no drain" in effect.

AAAAAHHHHH...the Devs realized that, and in avoidance of "NERF....YOU SUCK"-postings from the chefs board (nerfing the regen stats on food), they simply broke it, waiting for us to realize it....

Ok Devs, we REALIZED it....can we have a fix pls ?

Oh..and all above of course, IF the +200 is meant to be percentage.

I dont know a "hard number" of regen (like you can see on Jedis: Force recharge is a hard number, no percentage) - so i dont know how much +200 is, if its NOT percentage.

Confirmed, I see the exact same results with action regeneration foods

Same.

We figured yesterday evening, that it seems to affect "only" POST-CU bakings.

I have older crates of "CANAPE" left, they DO work.

Spices are unaffected completely, post- and pre-CU: They do all work.

So its ONLY the food.

DEVS, could it be, that this is a "collateral damage" of the crafting/BE/Enhancer bug/issue ?!

Cause all of the affected food accept BE-made enhancers...
