Thread: Is it worth stock pileing fishack and glucose, or will its filling make it un-useable...

I was debating to make a run on Fishack and glucose before I drop chef, but was wondering if the filling aspect of it will make the buff inefficient after the patch? I don't want a 10 minute buff with a 30 min cooldown... Help me out chefs, thx...

I don't really see a reason to stockpile it as you pointed out the biggest issue. While the new drink of 300-400 all mind stats for 30 minutes is a lower buff I would still like that over 400-500 mind for 10 minutes and no buff for 20 minutes. 20 minutes of no buff just sucks to me.

Mind food is different, as there is no mind food to replace old stuff. You will still get the downtime, but as there is no alternative, the only disadvantage is that you couldn't take some of the new food buffs if you wanted to.

If its all the same to you, I'd prefer that people not get angry with the rest of us chefs because someone tried to dump a bunch of old foods on the market at the last minute without explaining to them the downside of it. If your really just interested in making some money, collect resources and sell them, its much less work. Leave the cheffin to the professionals.

You actually think most chefs are stating that Fishak will probably not be as good on Thursday? Maybe it is different on Naritus, but on Eclipse and Tempest I haven't seen one chef even mention the possibility that old food might not be as good come Thursday. Obviously I may have missed a post or two, but those that I have seen haven't said a word. Just that their vendors are stocked with the last Fishak they will make(along with other foods).

Agreed, but there are people who are VERY aware of the changes (refer to the numerous "I'll never buy a chef food again!" flames on this board). Yes, I think much of our new stuff will be better (i.e. a "10" filling Brandy thanks to BE upgrades = +1300 to every mind stat for 40 minutes) but for those who demand the old stuff, I say let them stock up.

There are also a lot of non-chefs playing the market - buying up BoH, Fishak and the others in anticipation of the price skyrocketing once the patch hits.

This is comming frorm a *non chef* POV but I agree whole heartedly with this statement. I will be one of the first to hop on this bandwagon, how can someone not see the numbers and not see that brandy will surpass Fishak hands down? I mean cmon, all THREE stats with a significant boost off of one one type of drink for over 30 min? plus room in my stomach for food for a different kind of boost/enahancement? *whips out ppen and looks around* where do I sign???

I started telling my customers about changes, but then things started taking twists and turns. Stats on TC food were all over the place. So I just told them that if they wanted to see what was going on to head here. The food may or may not be better, it really depends on the person. I told them I personally feel the new food is better, but they kept asking me to make more fishak and ryshcate.

This is the entire reason I put all old stock on sale, and haven't made any more. Anyone who's been goin around buying tons of pre-nerf food to sell it for tons of money after the patch could be making a huge mistake.

After all, I have some BER 6 Heavy Harvesters that came from before architects deeds got patched with experimentation. (they were 12s or something before the patch)

They've sat on my vendor for 5k for over 30 days. lol. I think one sold.

I'm sure my old food will do the same, in the light of the new stuff. As a matter of fact, since i've educated my customers, the sale didn't even go very well, and I've usually got tons of business when I lower prices.

Anyway, just throwin a bone out there...

Say that it wasn't going to be as good? No, I don't guess any of us (that I have seen) have said that any of the prepatch food wasn't going to be good after that patch. That said. Most of us have posted something about the changes that are upcoming in order for you to be aware. Several of us quit cooking at least a week ago in order to get ready for the changes. I quit 2 weeks ago in order to let all of my stock sell off or attempt for it to be sold off. But most of us if not all of us on Eclipse that I have spoken to are ready and waiting and excited about the changes coming (even if we wished for a bit more). That said. I do hope that all of the non-chefs will give the new foods a try even if they do have a stash of the old prepatch foods that were there favorites.

It would be good if youstarted a threadalong with other chefs telling us what the best mind buff can be like and what is the price may beand thelikelyhood of us ever seeing or getting such stock.

Chefs keep on posting different stats for brandy and I've never seen one post with figures nearly as high as you stated. +1300 on all mind stats. That sounds way over the top. Can any other chef confirm this. It seems unlikely to me.

Players who are stocking up are also doing so without knowing what to expect and not to make a killing on the food market. Post believable figures or get other chefs to post similar stats. Educate your customers. Maybe then your customers would not rush to buy the soon to be pre-revamp stock.

The +1300 Stat figure was including adding Bio-Engineered component to that, I'm sure.

ooBoBoo - There was a post by SirVimes titles something like "forget Fishak - bring on Vasarian Brandy" or something like that. His work on TC came up with the following:

Adding a medium "filling" BE enhancement (or was it a light? I figure that was too good to be true) droped the filling on the Brandy from 40 to about 15. At a filling of 15, you can take 6 of them before you're full. At a buff of about +150, you would get +900 to all mind stats. This was with (he said) resources he could find, and nothing very good. I would hazzard a guess that better resources could easily add a 20% improvement, which would bring it up to about +1,200. (as proof to this: Making Fishak with average reactive gas gives an upper bonus limit of about +470 while "good" gas will get you +550 - a 17% improvement)

But even if not, +900 to all mind stats for 30 minutes is better than +1200 to mind and +600 to Focus for 15 minutes followed by 30 minutes of down time simply because you will regenerate mind at a crazy fast rate AND your specials will be cheaper to use.

Thank you for the answer.

Saying we get a good mind buff, then that brings us to the second really stupid part of the nerf--downtime.

WHY, give us any downtime at all????? How does this make the game more fun or interesting? It's idiotic and it will put ppl to sleep. How will this improve the game? It won't. Period.

Can someone give an arguement in favor of downtime concerning food.
