now that they made it so you need to repair too 100% for your harvesters to work its to exepsive..

before I was just paying 2.5k aday to maintaine a harvester and a power plant.

now because I must take them up to 100% every time I need to pay more often and the payments around 5k not 2.5k

thats just to expensive sence its only getting about 500 cereal aday.

Your daily payments dont increase with this in place. You just have to have a buffer deposit of some credits to ensure the device never runs out of maintenance.

I've found an Architect who will sell me harvesters for 500 credits each if I buy in bulk. It's cheaper to buy a new one and let them run themselves into the ground. That way I avoid maintenance costs altogether and I help support my local Architect.

That won't work now, Entropy.

Harvs won't run if you don't put money in them.

Sell 6k of food a day? lol. Nobody buys food. It's too inconvient for too little benefit.

Please tell me you are being sarcastic, or are a master chef trying to sell acually GOOD items. I am a novice chef AND a novice merchant. I have my own shop. I've advertised that it's there. Yet the most I've sold in one day is 1,000 credits worth. Every other day I am lucky to sell *ONE* item. ONE item.

If you seriously are selling 6K a day in food and drinks please let us in on your secret.

Hate to but-in, but I don't really understand the math. A small harvester costs 740 credits a day to maintain. A wind harvester costs 1480 credits a day, and provides enough power to run 3-5 harvesters. You could sell that excess power to cover the cost of both harvesters, or just run a single harvester and buy your power. Still, that's 2220 credits per day, a far cry from 6k. Run a couple sets of deliver missions and you have 3 days worth of maintenance.

If you are only getting 500 units a day, you have a VERY bad source of material. A 100% source would gather 2880 units per day... 500 would mean you are sitting on a source with 17% efficiency. I'd never put a harvester down for less than 50% efficiency. Perhaps you should move the harvester to a better location.

Sorry to jump in on your chef forum, was just confused by the numbers and my tiny engineer brain had to respond.

Yeah that 2220 credits is great, but none of it came from being a chef. I signed up as novice chef so I could be a novice chef. Please point me into the right direction as to how I can sell food and make 6K credits a day. Or am I supposed to do destroy missions, delivery missions, selling harvested resources and other NON-CHEFactivities as a chef to make money?

I was under the assumption that I could support myself with my chosen profession. Silly me.

I agree, Itried shutting my generator and extractor off when I wasn't playing hoping to keep costs down but when I turned the game back on (8 hours later), the machines had suffered just as much damage had they been on AND the extractor used up ALL it of its excessive power. **edit** is that?! What's the point of turning the machine off at all if it consumes power anyways and receives damage also?! I'm probably going to have to get rid of them as I cannot keep up maintenance costs. Unless I can magically sell 6k worth of food a day. I have a better probability of making a snowball form in hell.

no you seee the reason it cost 7k is because the maitance was not at 100% but now they have to run at 100%..

before Icould let it get down to 66% then repair it which was easy to do , but making a chef put in a 10,000 Credit deposit just to it can run at that low price is to expensive.

that means sure it cost the same , if you fork up a ton of money all at oncee , well not to many chefs have a ton of money all at once.

also to the person who says set up a vender and sell the food.

Ha Ha thats was agood joke.

Most people expect food to be free, they dont think it costs anything to produce.

There are combat missions for the fighters, and delivery mission for everyone else. Unfotunately, delivery missions don't get you XP, so the mission system favors the fighter heavily.

I thought we learned that the "trickle-down" theory of economics doesn't work. Food items are a luxury, not a necessity. Fighters can't survive without doctors and entertainers, but they can get by just fine without chefs, espcially novice ones. Even if there is demand, it's not enough to keep an aspiring chef in business.

I wish the buffs for low-level food items were higher. They need to boost the stats more or last longer to give any noticable benefit. +30 strenth for 90 seconds just isn't very useful, especially when that food sits in your stomach for an hour....

Just go do delivery missions. So what if they don't give you chef XP? Not everything you do can forward your career as a chef. I don't get medical XP for running my missions.

I'm a medic and I can afford to maintain my harvesters. And I can't even sell my crafted goods because 99% of people don't have the skill to use them.

If you don't like being a chef, try something else?
