C'mon people! Surely we cook in real life sometime or another

I'll start with something simple...spicy tuna!

1 can of tuna

hotsauce (to your liking)

rice (domesticated or wild is fine)

seaweed

salt

pepper

garlic

All you have to do is get a nice long piece of seaweed prepared with some rice on top of it, mix all the other things and put on top of the rice! Easy snack!

I'm not a Chef in RL, but I like to eat.

1 pound hamburger

Teryaki sauce

2 boxes Kraft dinner

Fry hamburger, drain, place back in frypan, drench in Teryaki sauce with heat still on.....repeatedly.

Prepare KD normally, remove from heat and stir in hamburger.

I took this to a potluck with a bunch of friends, thinking, "I KNOW there'll be something there I'll like." It was GONE before I even knew they had started. LOL

Much mocking was done at Fan Fest about the fact that NJ62 (the tailor correspondant) can't sew and I can't cook.

My RL cooking skills might be up enough to handle Choccaba's recipe, though...

Well, ok, there is another thing I like to whip up. Quick, easy, and yummy.

1 package ramen

frozen peas (about 1/4 cup)

frozen popcorn shrimp (about 1/4 pound)

Soy sauce

seasoning to taste (I'm a "grab random jars from accumulated spices and throw it in" guy myself)

Cook ramen noodles (without the season packet) in a saucepan. When almost done, thrown in frozen peas and shrimp, heat back to boiling.

While waiting for the water to heat back up, preheat a large skillet to medium-high with some oil (I use peanut or olive oil).

Drain all water out of the saucepan, dump everything into skillet. Add a couple tablespoons of soy sauce and seasoning (this can include season packet from ramen package). Fry until....it looks done. I try for a 50/50 mix of crunchy-to-soggy noodle ratio. /shrug.

Dump everything from skillet onto a plate, top with those crunchy oriental noodles, and veg out in front of the TV.

I'm a dessert person myself, so enjoy!

I've seen this recipe done by others in varying degrees, but this is what's in my family. We call them Chocolate Crinkles. I list ingredients as I use them, feel free to substitute with your own favorite brands. This recipe yields quite a bit (about 3-4 dozen), so if you aren't making them for a party, then cut it in half at least ... or shackle yourself to the other side of the room ...believe me, you won't be able to stop eating them ...

2c sugar
½c salad oil (Wesson vegetable oil/canola oil/anything used for baking)
2tsp vanilla
4oz melted chocolate (Baker's unsweetenedchocolate squares)
4 eggs (not found in womp rat garbage)
2c flour (Pillsbury BEST All Purpose)
2tsp baking powder (Clabber Girl)
½tsp salt
1c confectioners sugar

Melt chocolate (you can do this in the microwave or on stovetop, but by all that is holy don't scorch it - that nasty taste will carry through and ruin even the best looking cookie)
Mix oil, vanilla, chocolate, and sugar in large bowl.
Blend in eggs one at a time.
Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt.
Refridgerate for 3 hours at least.
Heat oven to 350°F.
Roll about a teaspoon sized lump of mixture into a ball and dip top in confectioners sugar. (I use a melon-ball scoop to make them bite-sized; adjust baking time accordingly; be sure to dip your utensil/hands in water - as the mixture becomes more room temperature, it tends to get sticky and cause you untold heartache - consider yourself warned)
Place balls evenly apart on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-12 min.

The confectioners sugar won't bake into the cookies - it will be a nice topping as the cookie 'crinkles'; or powder them to your heart's content.

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
pinch salt
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 12-ounce box fettuccine pasta
(or your choice of pasta)

1.Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium/low heat.
2.Add the garlic, cream, pepper and salt, and bring mixture to a simmer. Turn the heat down if the mixture reaches a rapid boil or it could boil over. You just want a simmer. Add the cheese, and continue to simmer sauce for 8 minutes or until thick.
3.While sauce cooks, bring 4 to 6 quarts of water to a boil and add the pasta. Cook pasta for about 12 minutes or until done, then drain it.
4.Spoon pasta onto serving plates with Alfredo sauce poured over the top.

My husband loves when I make this. And it's pretty healthy so we both win.

Chicken breast tenderloins diced in 2" cubes

whole button mushrooms

red peppers cut in 2" pieces

cherry tomatoes

red onions cut in 2" pieces

Make a marinade of fresh herbs, fresh garlic, red wine vinager, and olive oil, salt and pepper to taste.

Throw everything in there for about 1 hour.

Now comes the fun part. Pull out some wooden skewers and alternate chicken and veggies.

Throw them on the grill until the chickne is no longer pink and veggies are just right.

I like to serve them on a nice hot bed of couscous. Cooked with a couple fresh crushed garlic cloves and olive oil.

Sooooo Yummy!
