Thread: Poll: Should Changes Stay or Should They Go?
I've been chef since the start. Bad times, bad times, bad times, good times mid-november. I've still got 20+ food factories and sell close to 100 crates of food/drinks per day. Have I had fun being a Chef? Hell yeah! Do I want this revamp to go in? Hell yeah! Change is good.. maybe it takes a month or two to get it right. I'm all for it. I admit.. its nice to slop down a couple of GCP and drink a fishak for that 1400 mind buff.. but really.. we'll be able to do the same thing after the revamp with a bunch of other cool new foods/drinks to play with and instead of them lasting 10 minutes.. they will last 30 mins.
I'm still in awe with all the work SOE has done to this game.. all these great patches to keep us interested. I'm really glad to have SV as our correspondent and all the great help he's getting on TC. SciguyCO and the test correspondent(forgot name /blush). We deserve this awesome update! Once we get ahold of these on live servers with great resources... these buffs will rock! Fix the barrels before Thursday.. thats all I ask. ![]()

When is the last time (in real life) you've eaten something that, for the next 363 seconds, improved your stats 300%? Tone down the buffs, and in my opinion you'll have a much more realistic environment.
I admit that I've never eaten anything that improved any aspect of my character 300%.
However, just last week I packed everything in my house into a backpack, then I packedthe house itself into the backpack. Then I walked to a new town, took the houseand everthing it contains out of my backpack, and put it all back together again. I wasn't the least tired, but was killed by a bunny rabbit while walking around my new neighborhood. Never fear, I had remembered to save my clone data in the new town!

I'm all for the changes.
Now granted, I'm not on TC but from what I've seen there are foods there that stat buff just as well as those currently available (eat/drink till full with good quality food) you get a good sized buff that lasts for quite some time. It might not be fishak but it is a powerful buff in its own right.
Couple this with the fact that foods that buff stats (seemingly the most sought after), no longer have to be created by high level chefs (won-won, according to one thread is a STR/CON buff that can be made with Desserts 1) it would actually increase the availability of the wanted foods. This increase will benefit PvPers to a great extent because more than likely someone will have some in stock (and not overpriced either).
Now someone else said that the Pet Foods were pointless. Ok, go ahead and think like that. I for one think this will be a great money maker. Let's face it, how many people have pets? Sure, a lot less than before the CH change, but still. With our pet food we can give non-CH a fighting chance with their low-level pets and help existing CHs make sure their favourite whatever stays in tip-top shape.
And the other buffs...the skill enhancements...I love it! There will be a market, there will be benefits. The new chef system will provide for those players who like to min/max every possible stat before a fight as well as aid the more casual player that just wants a little help in their everyday existence.
As a chef right now I get the same questions from everyone "Can you make fishak?" Nothing else...just that.
And that was he main problem I found with the old chef system, is that every tier made the ones beneath it obsolete. Everyone was rushing to make Master to get out the fishak, we weren't chefs...we were McDonald's franchises...same cookie-cutter cardboard food everywhere. Will we still have that? Sure. I have an idea what will sell and I'll make that...but I'll make other things too, because I know somewhere somebody will want to reduce an incap time or something like that.
I really believe that this change is a good thing. I for one can't wait.
