Thread: Combat Professions: Express Your Opinions Here.
Getting this thread back on track a bit, I'll toss in my thoughts as a combat profession.
At master bounty hunter, I still have no defensive mods of note, only ranged mitigation. Even a small percentage of an increase to dodge percentage or resistances to status changes would be a VERY welcome. Even if it only kicks in one out of every one time, every time I don't see "Ikido Crestingwave uses fanshot on you for 800 damage!" helps. Some commandos are in a similar boat too.
Accuracy boosts are also useful for heavy weapons, which don't benefit from the modifiers from marksman. When you can only fire your heavy hitter's special from within 18m of the target and have a multisecond delay and only +60 accuracy, you do not want to miss but still stand a good chance of doing so, especially if the target moves.
Not all combat professions are the same so I can't speak for the more common ones, but at least some of us will have uses for the new stuff.
My take is that some of these I'd be interested in, but in general I think it's a step sideways rather than forward for the cheffing community.
As a ranger/CH/carbineer, I'd be mainly interested things like
synthsteak (less damage), vagnerian canape (secondary mind stats), vegash (creature harvesting, yay!). Those are about the only ones though.
Actually, if I can get a steady supply of vegash for a reasonable price, I may consider giving up some hunting skills in favor of the buff. We'll have to see how that works out.
Other than that though, I dunno, I liked a lot of the old foods too.

As a rifleman and CM I use a lot of mind but the main thing is that most of the mind use is from specials and that will be changed soon with the new combat system. The secondaries will havea greater effect than they do now so we wont have to buff them so high except to get armor on.
Food right now is overpowered. Sry but it is. Food is being used like potions in diablo 2. This is not want the devs intended. But I still think the new food looks great and cant wait for the changes. Chefs will be in great demand. I may even reroll my alt into a chef.
If it's not what the devs intended, why did they do it? It's pretty obvious what the effect these food stats would have on the game.
Now, try dealing with mind eating mobs like Night Sisters and Krayts. Oh, right, you're a rifleman. You don't get to stand near what you are killing. A tank does, like some poor melee fool. So, I guess it's easy for you to say food is overpowered.
Chefs will be in great demand. LOL. I wish that would be true for their sake. I love the Chef profession and hate what is being done to them and combatants.
Try smelling the sh*t you're shoveling.
