Thread: Sciguy stomach not emptying at death needs to be fixed!

Well, as long as this thread is here (and Crazyana seems to want to bring filling discussions here), I'll repost what I included in Tigg's "getting to know you" thread. In case it's not perfectly clear, I am personally for keeping stomach filling after cloning. And here's why:
Food has a long-term up-front cost (filling) for a potentially short-term effect. Foods like Blue Milk, Synthsteak, Bespin Port, Flameout, Canape, Vercupti, and others wear off before the filling cost has been paid (the food duration is shorter than the time required to digest the filling). If youdrink 100 filling worth of Brandy, you "owe" the game 45m (30m if thebug ever gets fixed)of stomach digestion time, and you're taking the risk that other factors (cloning) may cut the benefit short. That's just the tradeoff required for the benefits of food.
A close (but not exact) analogy might be buying a new car. You get a loan from a bank (or a financing company), pay the dealership and take the car home. Then let's say your car gets stolen. You no longer have the benefit of the car, but you are still obligated to pay the bank. If you tried to stop paying them just because you didn't have the car anymore, I think you'd get a nastier response than the devs have given us about the whole cloning/filling issue.
Granted, things like real-life insurance allow you to "pass the buck" with regards to paying the money yourself, but regardless the bank still get's their money.
And just FYI, due to a current bug non-stat food buffs (synthsteak's damage reduction, skill bonuses, etc) do not clear on death. They get removed from the buff UI, but your skill sheet shows any increased skill mods, and you still get damage reduction from any remaining synthsteak uses.

I would have to say that Filling would be my biggest concern with the chef profession. I know that it has been stated that it is working as intended when a player dies. I have read the reasoning behind this and do not agree with it. I believe that foods would not be exploited at death is it is programmed right. Just like doc./mind buffs food mods should disappear at death. With the mods gone there should be no reason to not empty the stomach. I am sure that I am not alone in my feelings on this. Sitting around for 15-40m is not my idea of fun.
I still see people trying to compare Doc/Entertainer buff with food. I will 100% agree with this when i can take a doc from cornet shove him in a crate, put hm in my inventory and not let him go till i get 50-525 uses out of him.
The second part makes no sense to me at all. If you use verticup/canapé/synthsteak or one of the other food/drink items that only last around 10 minutes or 30-40 attacks, your filling stays for 45 minutes, but if you die take it all way?!?! So now the person that survives is at a disadvantage to the guy he killed, that’s not a solution that a bigger problem. How can you tell the winner of a duel you won now go let someone kill you so you can have the same filling as the guy you killed, what am I missing here?!?!?!
In one of my last posts I wanted to get some ideas for the filling issue from people that actually duel. The general thought on it was: It is a horrible idea for PVP, might work in PVE, but is bound to be exploited. This was from two people I know PVP. Please post any feedback you get from people that duel, and try to talk to people that are experienced in dueling, I’m sure that peoplewho lose every duel and get killed love the idea of removing all filling.
