I think the best TC setup I have ever seen is Anarchy Online's server. You can sign up to have your playtime and bug reports logged, and you get points for submitting bugs, from 1 point for a basic report, up to 7 points for a detailed report with reproducible steps, locations, etc. You can then take these points to "buy" equipment, levels, etc. It is actually a testing atmosphere, and everyone there knows it is such. They have had only one character wipe (about a year ago), and the people there are friendly and willing to help those that are willing to go out and test. The more experienced testers get to test out new content directly with the devs, and the server has it's own private forum for passing along information, without having regular players littering the test forums with annoying posts

If TC here had a setup like that, I bet they'd have more people willing to TEST new content, instead of logging in for an hour and then never coming back.

Its January the 15th, is the Chef stuff on TC yet ? If its not up there soon, it wont make the next patch. Or it wont be tested properly.

Okay, I just figured out how I can help on Test Center. Since I spend half the week working 12-hour shifts, and the other half stocking my vendor again, it doesn't leave a lot of time to work towards any decent point in the chef-ing profession. What I CAN do is

1) Stand by for eating and drinking of crafted foods to check effects on all of them

2) Donate LOTS for harvesters, so resources for cooking won't be hard to come by.

Perhaps we can have daily/weekly (depending on how long it takes to test) "wine and cheese" taste testing parties on TC. Get all the gang here together to try out the new foods and have our "host" (SirVimes and any MCs on TC) explain how things are working with the crafting part of it.

After it goes live, any placed harvesters could be admined to the TC MCs as payment for our "invasion" of their server.

We could spend the time between now and the time the patch goes to Test to set things up.

Thoughts?

Sorry, guys, I have no idea when it will reach TC. As soon as I know something for sure, I will make sure everybody knows....

I am very excited and anxious to see how you all like the Chef revamp coming soon to a Test Center near you! GreenMarine did an excellent job with the development and I'm very very pleased with the changes so far.

Oh I think this is a great idea! But don't limit it to MCs on Test ... the artisan and novice chef foods need to be tested too and there a few non-masters running around.

I would help on test center as long as I had some help getting the resources together to grind to master. Starting from scratch to get that many resources would be way too much work

Well i just have one question before some of us help on test center.

If we do help and we tell you there is a problem will you fix it before it goes live or will you still push it and then act as if you didnt know there was a problem.

I would like to be positive in thinking that if i stop all im doing on live to help you test something that when we tell you its not working you listen..I have tried to help out many diff times on test but i have found that it is totaly usless.Time and time and time again you ask for out help.We give you are help. And still you dont listen.

I think if you improved you realations with the people who are trying to help and if you show us that you actully listen to us (Darn theres that word again.LISTEN) we would have no problems helping out.But give me one good reason to take time away from live to test something when even if its buged you will still push it out to live. You have done this so many times that i have giving up on helping.

I am a chef on Ahazi, skill level 3-3-0-4. I have gotten here with *no* grinding. I hate it. So I want to know, if I go to Test Center to help, could somebody send me a macro for grinding please? And a good one for sampling would be awesome as well.

I have 2 accounts so I could set up a character on TC to just grind to get up to skill in Artisan to become a chef.

My email is [email protected] if that is easier than posting it here.

Thanks.

Cheers,

Lark
