Thread: I hate to say this but...
"You are asking for them to nerf the only decent thing a chef can make. So yes, you are asking them to nerf chefs."
At level 1 entrees and level 1 mix my friend can make many things that fly off the shelves of my stores (synsteak for example). So I wouldnt say its the only thing good a chef can make. I sell a lot of low level chef food.
But I am not saying nerf sunburns only. I am merely saying that if you are reporting that everything else should be buffed, you should be reporting that tat sunburns should be nerfed as well.
"Tat sunburns are too powerful. But until the major bugs affecting the power of our other buffs are fixed, nerfing them would be an official "
I agree. They need to fix all the other chef stuff before they nerf...butchefs need to admit that tat sunburns need nerfing once everything else is balanced out. Nerfs are a part of balance just as much as buffs are...and I have yet to see any correspondents talk about any skills that need nerfing. Not even the ridiculously overpowered BH.
"Just because smugglers have other fun abilities doesnt balance off the spices tree at all. I for one dont slice at all. At any rate, this isnt supposed to be a "who should get the nerf stick" argument."
And just because you don't use them, does not elimate them as a factor. And lets get one thing staight, YOU came to THIS forum suggesting a nerf. No way around that one.
"Spices have a period in between where you are unbuffed as well. Push."
Wrong. No push here, because spiceS are still better and last longer than just about anything chefs can make.
"I didnt bring up the smuggler argument, your chef correspondant did. I'm not talking about other food."
And I didn't ask you for a comparison of the different profession buffs and their skill level requirements. I asked, what is it SPCIFICALLY about having high stamina regen that is overpowering? What is it ABOUT HAVING +1500 str/sta that you think is overpowering? All I see is the ability to get more styles off. IS there some other l33t uberness with having high stamina regen and health style efficiency that makes them so overpowering? And is it THAT overpowering that you would destroy a profession's only saving grace to justify your poorly thought out notion of balance?
Anyway, that's enough for me. I'll let the other Chef's chime in, I think you have dug yourself into a deep ebough hole that I don't need to respond anymore.
Also, per your theory on buffing the regen stats....did it ever occur to you that maybe doctors and smugglers don't buff regen stats because that's should be the Chef's area of expertise? Maybe if you had done a little research before sounding the nerf siren you would have noticed several posts on this forum relating to that topic.

Cyene, since your reply is a blatent attempt at trolling me out and turning this into a flame thread, I'm only going to say this:
A stamina buff of 3000 gives you +1080 action regen/minute. Assuming you are in combat for five minutes (continual action drain from special moves/being attacked etc) and you have a tat sunburn lasting that long (300s) you will recieve +5400 action from it. Much better than anything a doctor or smuggler can do.
This is not a personal attack against you or your profession. Please do not take it as such.
"A 1000 pt health boost is far less powerful than a 3000 pt stamina boost. Like i said before, a 3000 pt stamina boost will net you 5040 action points over a 5 minuute period. Once you lose the 1000 health, its gone for good. Secondary regen stats are the real power behind SWG."
Heh, you keep saying the same thing over and over without explaining why. The action pool is RARELY damaged, and when it is, the regen won't save you. It makes no dofference if you get 5040 action points over a 5 min period ifdmg hitting me in the action pool can kill me in 30 seconds. What you are talking about is what I keep saying....the regen is great, but has only one real use....ACTION BASED WEAPON STYLES.
Now, if you think its overpowered becuase it allows those styles to be chained, then that anohter thing. But you have not yet said that.
Oh, and Fatgit, he keeps referring to 3k from drinking 2 sunburns at once forsome reason...i think its to give his argument more weight.
Also, i love the absolute statements takens as fact...such as ..."Secondary regen stats are the real power behind SWG". Actually, anytime your action bar is full, all the regen on the sunburn is wasted.
The REAL power, imho,is going to be doctor HAM buffs. Have you visited their forum yet, asking for any reductions in their overpowered REGEN stat buffs (lol)

The action pool is rarely damaged? What planet are you living on? Everyone wants action buffs because blasters use action like you wouldnt believe. I have poeple asking me for action buffs much more than health buffs. And youre trying to tell me that 5040actionisnt going to keep you going for any longer?
Dear Mr. Deadjawas,
I believe what we are trying to say is that the action pool is rarely damaged by external sources, i.e. you don't get shot in the legs very much. Consumption of the action pool due to the usage of special attacks is what you are talking about, and while that is a valid point, someone receiving a stamina enhancement from a doctor will be able to do very near the same thing as most people will drink only one sunburn at a time so that they are able to consume another directly after the first wears off. Whether or not you can use more food/drink as soon as the buff wears off is something I have not tested myself, but from polling my customers, they use only one at a time. I hope that this was a constructive and enlightening post.
Ok I have not flamed at all on this thread yet, but honestly right now I've got to believe deadjawas is either incredibly stupid or he really is just a troll.
His only point is that TS regens 5000+ action points over a 5 minute period.
Everyone else has pointed out that this won't actually make a big impact in a fight, other than to mitigate special move costs.
Let me help break it down, in case he is just stupid, maybe this will help him understand:
5000 action points in 5 minutes BREAKS DOWN TO
1000 action points in 1 minute BREAKS DOWN TO
100 action points every 6 seconds.
Ok WOW THAT SOUNDS GREAT. Now, lets discuss how this impacts me in game:
My son, who is a Novice Pikeman (with 2 or 3 boxes) can hit my action pool (i've dueled him many times) for 1400 damage on a good hit. Average hit for 600 ishevery 3 seconds. However its random HAM attack so assume he hits Action once every 3 attacks so lets drop that 600 Action hit down to 200 to be fair.
200 pts action damage every 3 seconds WHICH MEANS
400 pts Action damage every 6 seconds WHICH MEANS
300 pts Action damage with TS buff on every 6 seconds WHICH MEANS
Total impact of Tat Sunburn is (assuming I have 1200 action, which I dont) I can now last 4 rounds of combat against an opponent that attacks RANDOM HAM as opposed to 3 rounds of combat without TS. If the opponent actually has a focused Action attack, then the impact of TS is COMPLETELY NEGLIGIBLE.
OH MY thats sooo overpowered. Lets nerf it.
Now what about PvE? In PvE it doesn't matter at all because its never Health or Action that limits the amount of PvE fun you can have, its MIND.
So the net GAME IMPACT, which is what we've tried to get you to explain in some way other than OOH IT BUFFS ACTION 5000 over 5 minutes is very appropriate to even where its currently at in the Chef buff line.
This debate is over. Move along.
