Yes, I would really like to drop my engineering line, but I cannot because artisan food is so much in demand that it is basically required if I am to supply food and drink to my customers and guildmates. Chef foods need a lot more hmph to make them "elite" crafting profession material.

How many people do you find asking for elite CDEF pistols? Just newbies, and I think the same should hold true for food and drink.

** Artisan foods are simply too powerful, more often than not due to the extremely low fill and high duration of them. **

I would like to vote for this to be the #1 issue. Post CU i have made about 500K on foods. Pre-CU i was in the top 10% of goods on my server. Now, any master artisan can make stuff that is 10 - 15% better than I can. He has to buy or make the additives but still. With base experimentation he can make better foods and sell them for almost nothing. The cost of being a Chef is slowly chipping away at my bank. In the last 3 weeks i have made about 100K. My wife advertises my goods about 10 hours a day but i cannot compete. The best foods are in their skillset and not in teh master chef one.

Lower level foods should have Higher Filling and Lower Duration. Master Chef's should be the ones who can make a expert dish generating a better effect and lower filling.

I make both Artisan food and Chef food andI sell a ton of both. I'm a +10 Artisan and +12 Chef and I make an easy 4 Mil a week. I price just about all my Artisan food like Blob Candy, Kanali Wafers and Spice Tea for 75K each. I go through at least 20 crates every 2 weeks of all the popular stuff.

I make Vegeparsine that is +99-103 Melee Defenselasting 17 Minutes. I sell if for 200-250K a crateeveryday, all day. My other popular's are Elshandru Pica +96 Ranged Defense, +17 Minute Duration for 200K a crate and Pikatta Pie +54 Dodge, +22 Minute Duration for 125K a crate.

The Key is to make all you stuff good and consistent. I mean consistent as in always having your vender stocked with the stuff you are going to sell and have the quality of the product the same (ie. Strength and Duration) all the time.

I seepeople selling Blob Candy and other Artisanfood for 50K a crate, sometime 25K a crate; but look at the quality and duration of it. It usually isn't as good as my best stuff and if it is, theydon't don't restock it enough and will lose there customer base. I think most of the people that sell the crates that cheap realize it's not worth buying the additives, harvesting the best flora, hide and meat to make1K of Blob Candy (or some other artisan food) andsell it for 25K a crate.

I did some math:

39 crates of Artisan food Times 50K a crate = 1.95 MIL

1K of 57 Bonus BE additives = 700K (approx) maybe more cause you need great Meat and Flora to get 57 Bonus on BE additives.

About 15-20K of flora/meat (ingredients) about 200-300K

By the time you add all that up, + factories (maint+power), possible sub-components, crafting time, actually factory time and a week to 3 weeks turn over time on your vender; it's not very feasible to continue making Artisan food that cheap and make that little of a profit.

Artisan foods aren't too powerful. All the chef foods I buy are much more powerful than artisan foods. the problem is that artisan foods are much more flexible, have a longer duration and a low filling. The chef foods have a short duration, high filling and although the amount they buff is as high or higher than the amount artisan foods buff, including the fact chef foods buff multiple stats, The duration of them makes it hard to use any other food or drink. Having a huge buff in 4 stats for 8 - 10 minutes is nice, but I can't eat any of the good non-HAM buffing foods for at least 15 - 20 minutes, by that time the chef food buffs are gone. So I can't use the chef food buffs, with the other high filling accuracy, dodge, burst run, heal efficiency..etc. type of foods/drinks. So when you can get the artisan foods which give a decent enough buff and can still use all of the non-HAM buffing foods, well it gives you more flexibility and the option to be filled up on defense/offensive/utility foods at the same time your on the HAM buffing foods.

so when it comes down to it, you have more flexibility with artisan foods than you do with chef foods. IN CU, power of buffs take a back set to duration because of the insane healing we get. It's much easier to simply heal yourself with 1500 heals indefinitelythan to buff yourself for 200 health for 10 minutes.

then when it comes to the regen stats, spice is much better because it gives a bigger bonus, doesn't fill your stomach and last longer than chef foods. So the combination of the flexibility of artisan foods and the use of spice makes chef foods very undersirable.

The answer to the whole issue is to improve chef foods so they are more appealing and are a viable option that won't give you more negatives than they do positives. right now, the negatives of chef foods outweight the positive. Chef buff foods are all about Power mainly and that's not enough in todays combat system. Power was good in the old system, but no so much in CU.

Has anyone mentioned T'ssolok?

It has no effect on the duration of the dancer/musician/entertainer buff whatsoever. (tested throughly and seconded on the dancer boards).

I was under the impression it works for doc buffs - not very well though, and only for one actual buff (so for a full set of buffs you'd need to drink like 6 uses or whatever).

If it is not intended to work for entertainer enhancements, then this should be specified in the rubric. I just says enhancments atm.

Im on starsider as well i have no issues with sales at all business is actually good. The only artisan food that moves very fast is crispic and protein wafers. Most people want the chef foods boh/canap mando/wonwon.

I've found Gorath to be the oposite. Only the specialty chef foods sell - synthsteak, vegesparine, picu thundercloud, pie. The ham buff foods are almostly exclusively artisan now on my server.
