Thread: Kant Make Master Chef in Easy Steps (I.E. Guide to The Grind
Forget the above post. I missed it when it said "Food crafting XP" and not general crafting XP. But the boots are a good way to make it to novice.
get the materials to grind out anything you care to grind. the XP requirments are so low for artisan that just about anything will do. i used foodcrafting tools to grind.
at DA4 grind out backpacks. the materials for these can be easily purchased off the bazaar for minimal cost. they give about 148xp i believe. i did this at lunch today and went from having 2 general crafting XP at DA4 to novice chef in 20 minutes.
backpacks are resource intensive 50 fiberplast a pop but that is not outrageous to just buy up for a 20 minute grind. that is if cost is not really an object.
when my holo after BE said chef i ran around the house cursing a storm cuz i hate crafting. my next one will probably tell me droid engineer. i am resigned to my fate. but i think my stay in chef wont be so bad. cant possibly be as bad as grinding BE.

I can't believe Itorian Mist is the best xp generator in the Mix column. There isn't something better in Mix 3 or 4? Isn't there a full list of crafting xp for all food? I cant find one.
I don't know about a list with the crafting xp, but the web page listing all the foods (in the stickied thread) has a column for "raw resources" (what's used up not counting components). That's a good indicator of how much xp you'd get, the xp is generally twice the resources used.
Ithorian mists use 80 resources, and gives more than twice the xp (170 vs. 160). Some recipes that might give more xp would be T'illa T'll (but you need 3 types of rarely-spawning inert gas and three identical alcohol), Thakitillo (a Master schematic, so when you can make this you don't need xp) and Braised Canron (which requires 40 meat).
Now with the revamp, I'm guessing there'll be some changes to the schematic resources. At that point, there'll probably be all new grind-worthy items.
Great guide.
By accident I found out you can use /selXX instead of /selectDraftSchematic 30. It was much quicker to find out which one was the Ith Mist. But I forgot (I'm at work) if I was putting a space after /sel.
If someone can verify if it is /sel XX or /selXX that would be great.
I just wanted to say thanks for this guide. I got Chef when I decided to open my Christmas holocron. This post made getting started at it a lot easier and meant I didn't have to come here searching through pages of posts only to end up posting for the billionth time 'what is the best way to gain chef exp?'
I'm also happy to say that I'll be staying with this profession for a while and am anxiously awaiting posts about the changes once they go on to Test-and at the same time praying that the higher quality resources I'm gathering as I skill up won't suddenly become useless!
So, thanks again from someone who was going to just be a visitor but decided a nice extended vacation in the kitchen would be fun-and besides this gives me the opportunity to open a shop called 'McVelvet's' complete with uncomfortable looking chairs and surly clerks.
Would you like some fries with that Filet O'Fishak? ![]()
ok I try with one open .... it work but close after it did the first one then I can't make more please help!
bangstrano are you sure your calling the right spot on the toolbar? Your problem sounds like where I once accidently put the schematic # in for the toolbar number nothing seemed to happen when i tried to use toolbar155.
Also remember if your tool is in the first slot then you use /ui action toolbarSlot00; as the command and if it was in the last spot you use /ui action toolbarSlot11; since you count from zero as your first spot.
