Thread: Complete list of revamped food buffs

Just looking at this really makes me want to cry. My boyfriend just did the chef profession for his holo grind, and it was horrible then, but we made crates of fishak to compensate. Now...we'll see how chefs feel after the patch goes live. I'd hate to have to put chefs on my list of People Who Get Handouts, but it's looking more and more like you guys are going to need it.
Again, I'm sorry guys. If you want a test subject/ generous soul on the Tarquinas server, look me up!
Love always, from one buff profession to another.
*blink*
Very nice generous sentiment...
But.. *blink*
*looks at new Vasarian Brandy*
*offers one to DangerGlitz*

Apparently someones been reading older threads.
I'm not a chef, but I use food a lot--when I can find it. I'm a Zabrak rifleman with maxed-out mind, focus and willpower. Under the current schematics, the best foods for mebuff "focus":breath of heaven and ryshcate. If I do one of each, I can spam specials without any effect on my HAM. Fishak is fine, but my mind eventually runs down in a big fight. I don't use it much.
For my needs, there are some very good changes in these schematics. Breath of heaven will now buff 246 focus for 11 mins? Outstanding! Put me down for 10 crates. I will stop using muon. Vagnerian canape and vagnerian brandy also look very good. I can see using Ahrisa too, especially with the 38 min duration. I could see stacking 2 or 3 of those. I just hope thisrevamp motivates more players on Lowca to become chefs. IMO, the biggest problem with the profession is that it's so hard to find well-stocked vendors.
anyone complaining about this is freakin crazy!

this is barely even experimented with...u candrink 2 and have near +300 mind focus will for over 1/2 hour????
wait until Bio-engineers get into this...the only ones crying should be doctors and entertainers.
"Good additives can be difficult to make, but the results are well worth it. Breath of Heaven has a slot for a "heavy" additive. The heavy nutrition tissue is called "Intelligent Nanonutrients," made by a Bio-Engineer. Using an additive made with this tissue in Breath of Heaven will result in a +1200 buff, instead of +500! That's without maxing out experimentation"
once people get good at this it's gonna be huge improvements... Good job DEV's
I can see that as a profession, Chef is definitely heading in the right direction, and there is so much potential within the framework they have provided.
However, seeing all the good buffs are gone and nothinghas been put in their place, there will be once again minimal need for chefs. Sad really.
What the devs should have done is put foods in such as +500 (or somet other similar figure) for each group of 3 stats (ie. mind/focus/will).Next they should also have added singular buffs like tat sunburns for all stats. I'm all for variety, but this list lacks it.
The list goes on, and I'm sure the devs listen to me as much as the listen to the rest of the players here.

and there you have it. how can you say its not a nerf...its a big time nerf.
Not when we experiment with goodresources and add in BE additives and get an entirely new combat system, Nikii!!
Then it'll be gold, pure gold!

Well if that's the case, nerf it then not now? Are the dev's really expecting us chef's to wander around in the wilderness selling pet foods until this new combat system arrives? No chance. If the revamped food is as bad as it sounds, then im dropping the profession, as are every single chef i've spoken to on the Europe-Chimeara server so far.
We have a hard enough time explaining to people what our foods actually do in the first place, let alone sell it. Which is why the majority of our clients are always repeat customers who place special orders. I myself have loads of special orders for fishak that i cannot produce. Same as BoH. Now, these people aren't placing their normal orders, their orders are 10 times their normal, as they want it all before the patch. Why? Because they will hardly order anything after it.
If the new system allowed the duration to stack like the stats it effected, then that would make our life a lot easier. At the moment, most players dont look at the fact they can take an item that increases their stats by 150x3=450. They just look at the 150 and think "forget that, 150? Big deal". The reason why this is? It's because there simply arent enough people out there in the land of "casual players" that know anything about foods, and even if you try to educate them by placing a "read me" item in a vendor, they still dont bother with 90% of your food.
I even had a player come to me with a /tell asking me why items like Fishak and BoH were so expensive, as to what it actually did. After investigation, I found this player had migrated his mind stats to max, and lived on Doctor buffs, and if he got into serious trouble he'd just whack on a muon. As I wander the major cities of the galaxy, I see more and more Master Doctors selling their buffs. It's a lot easier to sit in front of a Doc for 1 minute and get a 3 hour dose of major stat buffs for 6-8k and have a good mind migration, than it is to depend on a doc for small buffs. Especially as after you take on a Doc Buff, you can just forget about it. Our foods, players have to constantly remember what they are eating, how long b4 the next dose can be taken, and have a complete line up of various foods just to get within 1/10 of a doc buff at a similar payout.
Many professions have that "one good earner" when you master them, and even not with master. Armoursmiths have Composite and more, Weaponsmiths their Heavy weps and t21's, Doc's their stat buffs. Chefs? Almost nothing, and what we do have is to a niche. Ok so dancers and entertainers dont have major wares to sell, but then they dont spend all their time wandering the planets surveying and harvesting the best materials and then working out ingredient sizes, schematics, factory run times etc etc. And the combat professions make their money from missions and selling meat etc to the rest of us.
PLEASE! Give us our earner back. At least until this new combat system is worked out. Chef's are laughed at as it is already as being an unwanted profession. Give us a chance!!
Is a nerf? Is not a nerf? Glass half empty? Glass half full?
Doc/TK here.
I've been using food for quite some time now, mostly to buff mind, and frankly I thought it was great even before a revamp. Heck, I spent some 300k in the past 2-3 weeks alone on food. The food and drink combos I've been using are so effective that I rarely have to hit muon... and when I do, the downer goes nearly unnoticed.
With the existing system, I've been purchasing crate after crateof 7 or so various foods and drinks. After the revamp, the list of potential foods/drinks I have already written down to buy has grown to at least 31, NONE of which are for pets. I haven't even included my meager L10 pet into the picture.
