Thread: Improving Cantinas

The actual lot size is bigger than the Medium Naboo house, and the storage appears to be larger as well.
I liken the comparision to the Large Houses in terms of lots and storage.
5satisfies me. Would I have liked less?Absolutely, but can understand 5.
I am also 99% sure you can declare it as a residence, since you can do so with Merchant Tents.
You can declare residence...one of my new citizens did just that over the weekend.
I love the look of the player cantina. Some more features would be nice, but we're overall happy with it.
I just pull out my trusty R2 unit while I'm tending bar if I need a crafting station. ![]()
I am looking into buying an R2 unit at the moment as I had already forseen a problem with crafting whilst manning a bar. I am still trying to get Novice Chef at the moment (6000 xp level 4 dom arts to 19200 xp novice chef, what's with that?) but once I get Master Chef I am going to get a cantina. Luckily I am part of alarge PA (hit 100 members the other day) that will use my cantina and my cantina only. I also have plans for how to bring in custom that I am not going to share because you guys are my competitors
.
The biggest problem I think with a cantina is that people only really come to cantinas to see the entertainers. How many people actually buy a drink whilst there? Very few. I think that entertainers in player cantinas should be hired by the cantina for set money and all the tips they get the cantina owner gets a certain percentage.

I don't know if anyoner has walked around in a cantina in a city, but there is a back "stock room." You could put things there, and go retreive them to make your foods. Just a thought.
I think you missed the boat on this topic, they are talking about PC cantinas, not the NPC cantinas. There are no back rooms in PC Cantinas (at least not the naboo ones but from the sound of it, they all don't have any other rooms).
2. Owner selected background music.
3. Storage space W/ office area
4 Gameing.
5. Ability to place items on tables and on the Bar itself.
Booobo's Bar & Grill
Starsider - Corellia - Alya'starn
Booobo Shef'lya
Master Chef
Master Merchant
Screw cantinas.
Get a DINER. Like Dex's Diner from Attack of the clones.
Dex even has droid waitress.
Need to work out an incentive for sitting in a booth and eating. Could be like 5x times longer duration coupled with the duration not being triggered till you enter combat or use the ham.
For example you can walk into a diner. drink a tat sunburn. at that moment the duration is locked. He can walk around town pick his nose all he wants. 1 hour later he leaves town the buff is still on. He enters combat bam the 5x duration to tat sunburn begins.
Also we can have it where certain food combination within a cantina unlocks certain other special effects. So people wont only eat the regular popular stuff.
Also the food is at the table and on the table whats on the table acts like the available slot of a bazzar. So you can get up from your table, the food disapears from your table, you sit somewhere else then your food reapears there. The food is asigned to that cantina. So you can opt to take it to go from radial menu, or eat it there and get the full benefits.
I totally agree. Maybe this would distinguish between some of the 'field ration' foods and some of the more high quality chef items.
If I crack the seal on a pack of MRE's while out camping I know I'm not going to get quality food like I would at Che' Hoite downtown. Heck, I'd even be happy if they let it work in player cantinas AND master ranger base camps.

Allow an "oven" or "keg" to be placedINSIDE a cantina only and have it operate like a food factory. We need the ability to create stuff without locking up our lots any further.
Even just a cantina styled food crafting station. This would be a good idea too. There simply aren't any good places to put a crafting station in the Tatooine style cantinas, I'm not sure about the Naboo style, haven't seen one yet.

Why are we pounding merchants? Merchants don't do anything except lay down vendors. I'm a Chef and a merchant so I can have more then one vendor, so I don't see why everyone is attacking merchants.
I wouldn't exactly pound merchants, but I do see an issue you may not here...
I placed my Cantina as a Master Musician and I also had to Master Entertainer to get the necessary Ceremonial song and the use of the Mandovil Instrument (guitar/violin thingee). Now I wanted to Master Chef too, so I could provide the full benefits of a Cantina to my patrons, including being a live bartender while my staff entertains. I do own the cantina after all, I should be able to perform or serve...
My problem is, while I am away I would like an NPC vendor to serve drinks and foods. My only choice with the limited skillpoints is a huge bulky tin can, which detracts from the atmosphere (business3)
Get Novice Merchant you say? Sure I can do that, if I unlearn a Master....not very fair to Musician Chefs who are basically required to Master Entertainer too.
A simple NPC Merchant at Master Chef who ONLY served food/drink with an on/off switch would be a great idea. I would not be taking away from Merchants purpose, because I could only seel food/drinks from it - not everything.
As for storage, I found a way around that - I took a Food Station and shoved it into the shelve area behind the bar (shelves are useles anyway without he /move up/down command). Then I store items inside the input hopper - viola, sight unseen.
I'm all for crafted Casino type items, hoping they would be Cantina placeable only....
Yez - Master Musician/Master Entertainer/Chef - Club Fayth - Fayth, Corellia, Intrepid
love the d&d comment.. good plan, one thing that would be way nice would be that if chefs like dancers and muscians could register their cantina on the acutal planatary map! i firmly think they should have made just chefs able to have cantina's then we would be actually sought after... let the muscians and dancers keep their theatre.... let chef's have their cantinas.. makes much more sense... yes the cantina needs something to help attract people to it....
