Sounds good to me. I do wish they'd fix the barrel bug though, especially if they've admitted it is a bug. However I do agree the casks are more than sufficient. Would be niced if there was a way to increase stack size on some of the eaten foods though.

Well, to be fair, some of it is my fault for not keeping this up to date. I really have to schedule a block of time to go through and update all the stickies. Maybe Thursday night...

Some things that have come out for chefs:

  • Increased units of milk obtained from creatures.

  • Digestion rate set to 30m to go from full to empty

  • Fixed problem causing stomach not to empty (probably referring to digestion "slow down" in places like DWB)

    • {these are currently on TC, haven't been pushed to Live}

    • The digestion rate fix should also shift the usefulness of some of the higher-level foods, since there's less "downtime" associated with digestion vs. buff duration.

  • Added Mandalorian Wine loot schematic with the DWB dungeon.

  • Added chef items to loot revamp (Kitchen Utensils and portable stove). Ok, they are just decorative, but kind of neat.

  • Allowed Wookiees and Ithorians to wear the crafter's apron.

  • Devs have categorically stated that filling on cloning has to remain for balance purposes. If filling was removed after death, then the power of most duration-based foods would have to be reduced a bit. And instant or triggered foods (Blue milk, synthsteak, Flameout, Bespin Port, etc) would have to be nerfed a lot or removed entirely.

  • Based on a poll I did a few months back, most chefs have shifted over to not being too concerned about barrels. The 3x stack multiplier from casks is really sufficient for most of our needs. Now if barrels were supposed to do something else neat (low stack size, but small boost to buff/duration), that's another thing. But I got a dev response that Barrels were always only supposed to give a stack increase.

In my opinion, Chef works in the current system, none of our issues are game breaking (although many are annoying). There are a lot of professions that aren't so lucky.

I have to agree, crafting on the whole is in good shape, apart from the odd annoyance. Its hardly the sinking ship that combat is atm.

But these last 2 fixes shows they're obviously working they're way through the problems.
