started chef as holo.....but found i really enjoy it ..already have guild members requesting foods/drinks soon as i can make them...altho hunting resources gets tiring..in the end...ive made something very useful to everyone in the game...so even tho i started out as marksman/scout....will keep my Master Chef (soon as i get it).

this forum has been very helpful in answering my questions concerning this profession..so thanks to all who have posted here.

I started a few days after launch heading into Chef. I have been a Master Chef for months now. I like it and plan on remaining as one. My holosare slated to be decorations in the Cantina.

Here's what I like about being a Chef.

1) Discovery.

I like it because I knew it would be a road less travelled. I wanted to have fun learning about it. It has been that. Information at first was scarce. Far more so than with thepopular crafts...armor smith, weapon smith, droids, architect,...So the discoveries I have made in learning it and the continual process of learning it were loads of fun. (Looks like we are all in for a new round of it too!) What works, who wants it, why, how will I do it? Now I am familiar to some degree on how it works best for me yet itstill is entertaining. Developing better products, continually upgrading resources, finding methods of getting the more difficult resources. The discovery aspects have slowed, but I still learn things or how to improve what I do nearly every day.

2) Challenge.

My goal was and still is to make an in-game reputation for Lac Plesisas a premiere Chef. It will and is being done by making Lac aChef whoalwayssupplies good quality and often exceptional products. That is where thechallenge comes in. Obtain the best needed Flora resources...you need to be sort ofan expert botanist/zoologist actually. How consistant is my supply of high quality meat in 30k stacks at a price I can afford? Is this new Talusian berry better than the old Naboo I have now? I keep up with the shifting floras andseldom have missed day. After that come more challenges in the calculations and finding the right combinations to make the resourcesintosuperior products.

3) A Comfortable In-GameLiving.

I am not an Uber rich person, but the money is satisfactory. Demand has always exceeded my supply...well except when we had the stack bug and the stat bug...We all know that there are far easier ways to make credits. Just flop some 14BER Heavy mineral harvesters down at the beginning of a shift on any quality of anyhigh % resource, come back in 7-10 days, collect your 100k stacks, and spam it for sale in Coronet or Theed at 3-5cpu.

I can't see that being fun for me. No challenge...anyone can do that.Meanwhile Lac slaves over a hot oven tosqueezea reasonable living out of the same resources at amark up ratethatactually falls short of what he could get just selling theraw resource. Come on Skevron R-Gas...WTB's for 30cpu lots of the time...I have sold it to my PA's armor smiths when they need it, but I have turned lots of 900+ OQ Skevron into Tatooine Sunburns...too because I am a Chef and I will continue to make good food and drink even if I could make more selling off my resources.

So for me it is fun that counts and not in-game credits. Lac makes enough, and he is doing it as a Master Chef.

i loved the whole idea from teh begining in fact it was the first profesion i mastered... i just liked the idea of a wookiee barkeep... but when i got there as we all know tons of problems and bugs exist... i love the large varity of food but would like it more if they can make them some what useful, not many thing but a few people really want... and spice and dancer/muscians and docs take alot of our buff power away even though all we make are buffs... so i hope some of that gets fixed... also wish theere was more varity in looks of stuff... and possible bonus things to us like the food cart we see... or a wedding cake that looks like a weddign cake everone can take from. if this cup/drink thing comes around make them diffenrt cups and the keg look and all to them... i love the titles too best ones in game i think hehe... ok i guess i am done....

I originally came into Chef not knowing what to expect. I think that is what sucked me in - the mystery behind the profession. I paid my dues to get where I am, and I am just now starting to mass produce decent quality foods. On my server, Shadowfire, we don't actually have a shortage of Chefs, as I have witnessed several Holo-Chefs end up staying. There's just something to this class that makes it worthwhile to play. You can always do combat on another server or another account, but to leave Chef, and to come back again - would be truly foolish. The forums (I luv you guys!) has been a huge help, alongside an occaisional comic relief. Thank you.

I like being a chef because it gives my guild the extra edge to win in PvP battles.
