Obviously if he is being given so much work, that means he's highly competant and reliable as a programmer.

Calling someone at NBC to dredge up some slime story on the poor guy just because his plate is too full due to poor management calls is highly out-of-line and unnecessary, not to mention downright crude.

Or it could mean that they need to hire more programmers, I think its both. Its just not realistic for this guy to be caring this much workload and still expect him to get "the little things" (chef), accomplished as well.

I just wanted to say I appreciate your attitude SirVimes, it helps me improve my own.

Regarding the length of time required to master Chef... it's not long enough imo. I don't mean that they should increase it, however, just because so few people actually take it up. It doesn't end up being unbalanced. I've found skill gain even "normally" to be quite easy in this game. It's getting the resources to gain that can be a little more difficult. From the time I first posted I made Novice here - which was *maybe* two months ago - until about two nights ago, I only made items for my vendor(s) and played around with the experimentation system and made things for decor. I did cater one Wedding which required a lot of foods though .From all of that I achieved Entrees II, Desserts II, Mix II, and Cooking IV. Like I said that was maybe two months or less of playing about 2 hours a day, except weekends. Then about two nights ago, I sat down and actually did some (quote) grinding (unquote), which I don't usually do (not that I have anything really against it I just prefer to do things 'normally' usually). I got the rest of the Desserts line and some of Entrees III from that before I just ran out of materials. I have 3 1/2 boxes left before Master and I think I spent maybe 3 1/2 hours "grinding"... tell me again how hard this is? I'm sorry I just don't buy it. It should be harder - but harder for every profession, not just ours. It would be nice to really mean something at Master and at lower levels as well, but without the food balance pass over I don't see it happening.

Amen to that.

I don't want it any easier, because then it will be about as difficult as Mastering Creature Handler, andthey have a terrible reputation because of that.
I dont want people to grind upa chef tree just as a joke, or this neat side trick they do. I want people to be chef's because they really wanted to be a chef. I want chef's to be motivated and enthusiastic about what they do, and the easier you make a profession theless you will see that kind of attitude scaling the profession trees.

On a side note regarding fixes...it's my understanding that the group looting bug may be fixed on TC?

I was able to loot some milk on Endor the other night...I wonder how much milk would have been looted and ended up in our hands by now if not for this bug?

So perhaps the publish will end up giving us our "missing recipes" shortly.

When it comes to advancement, I think easier is the wrong word. What I want is less clicking. I want it to be less monotonous. I want it to be more fun. If it is more fun, then it would seem easier.

I have to say that SirVimes is doing a GREAT job here. Any job that requires moderating "Madder than hornets Chefs vs Overly worked Developers" is tough and you do it with finesse, SirVimes.

That being said, I truly do believe now that the developers are up to their eyeballs in bugs, fixes and complaints. I know that many chefs are at the breaking point, me being one of them, but a quick fix is clearly not the answer here. There is just so much wrong with the profession that it is going to take time to evaluate and maybe even overhaul. I know that there were issues that should have been fixed in Beta testing and even before release but they weren't and here we are.

I have to say that I got frustrated when my business failed to thrive, I didn't sell anything for days on end and I had to rely on missions as my sole income. I decided to temporarily suspend my Chef profession and move on to something else while waiting on these fixes. I just also want to say that I truly admire those of you who have a thriving business and can make a go of it.

I finally realized that this was completely out of my hands and I have to roll with the punches. Some of you may want to consider doing the same. Threats and sending hate filled posts to the devs are not going to make them work any faster.

so so sad... it's too late... Another SWG account has been canceled as of next week

I grew tired paying the subscription fees to a game that I did enjoy that was broken.

maybe they will complete SWG. until then I'll just watch from the sidelines.

I have to say my chef profession will be on hold as well. With the bugged stack of food helping to keep sales down being a big factor not to mention I finally make novice chef and am horrified at the results of the new recipes and experimentation. None of the stuff I made is worth even trying to sell! A waste of time, effort and resources and am not looking forward to going for 32k chef xp points just to get a +20 in experimenting! Guess I will keep making my good artisan food and keep surveying full time till chef becomes workable.
