Thread: Fishing?

Yeha, fishing is real cool..for a while. Breaks up the monotany a little, and puts a smile on my face.

But lets face it, its useless and needs work.

Best fishing I had was along a river where aggro npc mobs were spawning.

I would waste one, and go heal by the river, fishing. Then another would spawn, I would stop fishing, waste him then resume fishing, all the while yelling "YOU'RE SCARING AWAY THE FISH! MAN!"

We should be able to eat the fish just like we eat foraged stuff, and continue to have the fillet-chum-fish resource option. I would love to feed my pet, fish.

After you fillet the fish, what is the leftover item labeled as? Is it labeled as some type of meat? I know with the land creatures, you also cannot eat the meat fresh off the carcass. As a novice artisan, I have found several recipes that calls for meat (of any type). For example, there's meatcookies (exo-protein wafers) anda nutritious protein shake can be made with water, mineral supplement and some kind of meat. Who knows? Perhaps you can make a mackerel-flavored slimfast special...

Chum, eh? Does that mean you can catch bigger fish using chum as bait? (ala Jaws?)

Just a few random thoughts to pass the time...

Thought I read somewhere that fishing gives survival xp. Anyone know if this is true? Also does anyone know how to fish? I filled my pole with bait and cast in water but then there are dialogue options for tug up, tug left, etc. I got a nibble or bite every so often but couldn't figure out how to reel the fish in. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, I give. How do you fish? I built the pole and tried /fish or /cast and was told to I needed to bait the pole. /bait didn't work.

So can someone walk be through this one?

somewhere in the game guides is a guide I wrote

do a search in the game guide section.

but to answer your question you have to load your bait into the fishing pole.

If you do nothing else in game try and have fun.

Well currently the only point in it is to have fun or possibly get some fish meat for a chef. But thats fixing to change, fishing will give exp for the scout survival tree. (err I thunk thats what I read)

I've been wondering if you could build an aquarium with the fish you catch. I mean, after fileting the fish, it leaves an empty model behind. Using stairs in your house, you could drop them at different levels. I don't know what they look like though when they are dropped (the puffer fish looked cool in the inventory). But what would you use for an tank? Fishing rods stand upright when dropped. I know this because I have a fishing rod with bair around it, leaning in a corner of my house. Any ideas?

Xy,

If you ever get bored, drop by my house (Daria and Brisc's Clothing Clearinghouse and Bait Shoppe) near our PA Hall on Naboo, on the Bloodfin server.

/forage to find bait for your fishing pole. I usually forage near the place where I going to fish. It takes a few times to find bait(example insect bait). Open your fishing pole and drag the bait to your fishing pole.

Xy,

This is going to sound retarded - but I have no idea how to take a screenshot. What button do I push and where does the file go?

Yeah, what Ronge said. In the options panel, you can tweak the screenshot file formatas well. Kinda cool actually.

If you look inside the Keyboard mappings, there is a key combo listed to take a 360 degree screenshot. Unfortunately, I've never gotten it to work.
