Thread: How do you guys make money on brandy?

I for one, have no problem paying 2K per BSN+85. Dont forget BEs also require scout but to be reasonable, some Ranger skills. I used to be a ranger and know the pains and many hours of harvesting creature foods. If most ppl pay 1600, I'd gladly pay 400 more so that I dont have to havest creatures myself. Also consider the CPU for the creatures foods that BE require, usually above 50cpu and can go up to 80cpu.

As long as you havest everything yourself and get your trims cheap, we're selling everything at at least 25cpu. Even if you find a bad resource CON of 50%, your harvesting cost is rougly 0.5cpu, throw in factory costs and trim, what's our profit.....about 24cpu with BSN at 2K.

The BE deal I have is 2K for each tissue no matter what size (MS,BSN or INN). Of course now he's going to surrender ranger for Jedi so we have to adjust our agreement/prices.

Have fun!

I personally have a guild tailor make me the trim schem. for free, have a guild BE make me the BSN schematic for free, I also happen to know both these guys in real life so that probably helps a lot. Then I have a combat char. that harvests all my meat and with 16 lots I harvest all my own floras. All in all I think it costs me about 200-300k to make a full 100 crates of Brandy. Selling those at about half what everyone on my server does for the same brandy puts me at about 75k a crate of 25, total I make 7.5 mil.

I'm sorry thats just the worst advice you could give to someone making brandy, i mean you save some hassle by not using casks, but then you cripple the use and lower the price of the product.

Always use casks if you want to be competitive, then fore actually sell stuff.

Will BE's generally give you a major discount if, since I have the best pve class in game, I harvest a bunch of good meet for him at no charge?

I have tried mining my own resources but very low surveying, it takes me hours sometimes just to find a good spawn. Either that or the spawn is already covered with harvesters. Being on Ahazi is tough. It's one of the most populated servers and also due to the early duping around release, the market is flooded with credits.

go to swgcraft.com for more information about resource spawns. When I started off as chef, I had novice surveying skils and I was not hampered by this at all. Swg.craft points to the right planet and their stats are updated daily. Don't just randomly pick a planet and start surveying.

Second, you need to decide whether you want to be a crafter or a combat character. Your spreading yourself to thin.

Some BE will give you a discount if you harvest the meat for them. Depends on the BE.

Hmm..you could be right about this. I keep forgetting about that pesky multiplier

I play on Ahazi as well, I can give you some tip's if you dont mind...

1) collect your own meat for addatives: you will find it is infinitely easier to have meat and flora, approach the BE, and ask him/her to make you schmetics. Generally they will (some require money for this service, but even at a million credits to make you 5 full schmetics, you are ahead of the game..)

2) Search vendors for grind qual gemstone. Also for grind qual inerts and fiberplast. Then repeat for trim like you did for your addatives, find a tailor, have him/her make you schmetics. You should be able to get the grind qual resources at no more then 2 cpu on ahazi, there are plenty of people with static harvesters, just looking to make some money on the side with grind qual resources.

3) become more friendly with the other established chef's. I have an arrangement with 2 other chef's for sharing resource deposit locations. Let's be honest, we typically do not compete. There is more then enough buisness to go around for 10 more full-time master chef's on ahazi. As long as I make my 10-15 mill a week, I am happy(10-15 mill a week is all I can make running 12 food factories constantly due to the cook times)

4) Think "bulk" when you mine resources. I mined 900k of fungus a few months back, now I dont need to worry about that at all. I can concentrate on other resources. While us chef's are always looking for good berries/fruits/woods for our wares, mine the other things as well, so that is one less resource you need to worry about.

I hope that helps you

I thought the Port and Cake weren't working for BE's yet? The port's rough since a chef either has to accept sub-par results or wait for the various Tat-specific tubers/fruits/berries to spawn in good quality . Cake's issue is...umm...{huh, I coulda swore it needed bantha butter....}. No excuse.

/note to check Cake stock tonight

Jawa beer is tricky just because it's an artisan level food (not all chefs do 44xx artisan for the 10 experimentation points) and it requires wooly hide which tends to get snatched up by the armorsmiths.

Smart chefs should always stock veghash. If scouts and rangers are bringing in more units of meat/bone/hide/milk, we'll get bigger stacks and (hopefully) lower prices.

I guess this got a little sidetracked from the original question. The big money tends to come to chefs who make a name for themselves on their planet/server. Have something for everyone, and a lot of people will come to you for something. Brandy's flashy, but everyone makes it, so price wars are a constant issue.

I GIVE enhanced vegehash to my meat collectors, just seems like a smart investment to me..

The best way to cut down on expenses is to harvest your own resources. Shop around to see which bio engineer and tailor give you the best prices. If possible give them the ingredients to make the trim or bio additive and just pay them to make you a schematic.
