Lol! Happy grinding First of all, BE-' business is not only in Chef tissues. Even not in Tissues at all. I make good fun and profit making Pet supply and pets themselthes.

Second, not so many chefs will be ready to collect all that meat - to find out, they get rougthly same prices for final product...

BE's double (at least) the market cost of meat when crafted into bio's - easy money. Altho not as easy as some BE's would like to make their money i.e 500k for a schem.

LOL, great discussions. The original poster asked to be told if he was being an idiot.....yes, your an idiot!j/k

As a long term chef I have collected all my own resources for food, trim, BE additives. At one point my alt was a BE also. I have grabbed enough tailor with my chef to make my own trim. I supply all meat and flora to a local BE who makes me schems, 30 at a time (10 lights, mediums, heavies) for 15K per schem. So in a quick hour of crafting, with no investment on his part, he makes roughly 500K. It works for both of us. I was a BE once, not an easy profession to cash flow, and on our server with BSN's selling for 40K a crate and good meat going for 50 cpu.....it can be pretty cut-throat.

So, shop around. I don't handle my own trim and BE additives because I don't like the prices others charge or the interaction with other players, I do it so I am not dependant on them. If I need a cask run I need it now, I can't afford to wait a day or two for one. Granted, with better planning this can be prevented, but hey, for the few points it takes to grab tailor and then just work a deal with a BE, it's not tough to become fairly self-sufficient and yet still interact with others in game. The massive interaction is what makes this game unique and fun.

Lastly, consdier this......with the revamp coming and BE's going to be crafting meds now....maybe they say to heck with chef BE additives as they can make more money crafting meds with the same resources? BE additive prices could go WAY up soon. Of course if we don't have any food to sell it won't matter, but that is a whole different thread/arguement!!!

LOL! As we have discussed on the BE forum, I don't make schematics. I'm not against the crafting of schematics either. The percentage of my income, based on chefs, is very small. So no, you won't be taking my job.

I make infinitely more money selling pet stim D's and tailor tissues than I ever have selling chef tissues. My CL10 animals practically lead off my vendor. No, you won't be taking my job. I wish you well paying $15 a month to be some elses schematic monkey.

One funny side note I might add, a tailor has never asked me for a schematic. A creature handler has never brought me fish and asked for a schematic either. It would not surprise me to find it never entered their minds to do so.

Harvest your own meat, or pay someone else to do it. Pay a BE 50k to make a schematic. Run it in your own factories. Poof, you no longer have your problem.

Remember, for a lot of crafters, the price of goods involves more than cpu. Never underestimate the pain in the ass factor (PASS Factor). If I am a high volume BE, and i charge next to nothing, one or two chefs are going to buy out all my tissues. Now I have another 10 chefs asking me if i can make them some tissues. If I am not charging the two lucky chefs much, I am not getting just compensation for Pass Factor. If, on the other hand, I raise my prices, now instead of all my tissues going to two chefs, they probably go to three or four, so not only have i reduced my possible providers of PASS Factor from 8 to 6, the fact that 6 are giving me PASS doesn't matter as much, becausenow I am making more money.

If you don't likethe way something is, either figure out a way to work with it, or go around it completely. If you are being victimized by BEs and Tailors, it is your own fault.

Ican pick up tissues at:

small 20k

med 30k

large 40k

You just need to work on getting a good relationship with a BE, helping them with resources is always a help, and offering them discounted Vegash to supply their hunters is a good move too. Dont forget in helping them, you help yourself.

Funny, I'm my own BE and tailor and sell my crates of brandy for 300k. I kinda like my method better... all I pay for is the additive meat, and I harvest some of that myself if it's on dath or dant.

Thats some profit.

Like 250-300%? Unless you paid 100 cpu for your fruits and berries.

Not really, (im one of his Business partners) mainly cause we have 3 12 pt chef's/BE's in our business and we split 1/3 of all credits equally so there is some individual profit sacrifice, but it's kind of been fun having 20 different high quality foods in mass qtys and dominating the high end market, no on can keep up with our volumes and selections. All in all it's probably the most fun I have had as a chef teaming up, and yes the other chef's hate our guts on our server. I would highly recommend it if you can find guys to trust and can drop the ego trip of being a "well known" toon.

Um .. What's wrong with gathering your own resources? And kudos to those of you that do! I can't afford to pay for resources so I get my own. Sometimes that means I spend entire days planet jumping to find good spawns. I hunt along side my partner who is a FABULOUS Master BE and whatever he needs to make the additives I need, I provide it to him. I get free nutrients, he gets free brandy. Tailor needed tissues for clothes, so Kio'wa <my BE partner> exchanged several tissues for trim schematics. I think we own at least half a dozen of every kind of harvester a person can own! I don't have enough sp to master chef, I am only makin hooch, but it sells well and its all 100% profit .. yea yea .. minus the maintainence on the harvestor. I think there is room for every profession to price gouge, its a matter of whether you choose to allow it to happen to you. Point is, this game forces us to rely on and intereact with each other.
