Thread: Filling for Vasarian Brandy, Accarragm, and Garrmorl increased
I can't believe that people are blaming smugglers for this change. It is true that some smugglers are worried about sales of spices because of the chef changes and the Imperial crackdown. However, I don't remember reading any threads by smugglers that called for a food nerf. Maybe I missed the threads but there was certainly no huge smuggler outcry against food.Smugglers at the moment are more worried about Imperials being able to smuggle goods better than master smugglers. The devs did this one on their own. They probably thought that those items were overpowered and changed it again.
If you want to point fingers, blame the devs. Smugglers did not cause this.
These aren't "tweaks" or "fine tuning"... the Devs are seesawing between extremes on a near daily basis, without any apparent rhyme or reason. Can someone please tell me just what the heck is going on?Are two Devs arguing over how powerful food should be, and whichever one overwrites the values last wins?
God you people are stupid, can't you read what I wrote?
Muon Gold sales were hit because of the combination of soon to be availablegreat Chef buffs AND the hidious penalties for the Imperial Crackdown.
Now, let me put this is lamens terms for you....
Devs nerfed the crackdown, Imps now get a smack on the wrist and Rebs get a TEF.. boo hoo, what a pointless addition to the game.
Devs adjust Vasarian Brandy so that it isn't too far ahead of Muon Gold considering it's lack of a downer.
It's two things, TWO things!
Personally, my opinion is that Muon should've been made better, not the Brandy worse. But stop thinking everything has to revolve around one detail, Spice sales did drop and would've kept dropping if both the origional changes had gone live, but now, hell spice is gonna sell as good as ever cause there is no reason not to use it, the scary crackdown is pointless and the chef buff is good but not great.

ewokkillah,
I actually understand your reasoning, and I for one don't think that the Smuggler community as a whole is crying "nerf the chefs." This is an issue that we, as Chefs, have with the Dev's, not with Smugglers. I like to smuggle on the side, so I do have a bit of perspective on this: When you say that Muon Gold should be increased to be on equal footing with our best Chef foods... I simply must disagree. As it has been pointed out, Muon Gold can be made with the crappiest ingredients, while Chef's have to pore over various planets searching for the best resources. For every minutethat Iput into making a crate of Muon Gold, I can guarantee that a Chef puts in at least an additional twenty (not an exaggeration) for each crate of food they sell.
Us Smuggler's get to do more than the typical Chef as far as content goes... but honestly, us smugglers need a little bit more work. Underworld tree is just hideous. What do we smuggle? Yes, I agree - the Dev's need to do more with the Smuggler community. But I'm sorry, I just can't see the justification for putting Spice and Foods on equal footing.
I never said that muon gold should be on equal footing with chef foods. I must be confused with another smuggler. I appreciate the amount of effort that it takes to make great chef food and the lack of effort it takes to make muon gold. I think they should add experimentation to the spice line but not all smugglers agree with me.
What Iam here to argue is that a few smugglers saying that the food was overpowered most likely did not cause this change. Smugglers just don't have that kind of power though I wish we did. I have a worthless underworld line I would really liked fixed. This change was mostly likely caused by the devs looking at the new buffing power and trying to balance it against the power of the mobs already out there. In their typical fashion, they made another huge swing rather than a minor adjustment.
FYI. people are current bidding on a +10 food exp boot for 15 mil. so, we still have a chance to sell our resources.

We aren't healers, we aren't rezzers, we don't have godly 2-3hour buffs, we don't slice items, etc. I always use Gold when I use my chef buffs too. Grrr. Anyway, when stuff like this goes live, I can always sell awesome resources.
