Thread: The Confessions of a Frustrated Correspondent
Iwould like to speak up in favor of Capt. V.,the former Squad Leader correspondent justin case thereare any misconceptions regarding how the Squad Leaders feel about him. It is true that the Squad Leader profession has been totally ignored by the DEVs. Some might suggest that this is because of the correspondent. However, this is not in any way the fault of Capt V. He has submitted several very professional and substantial, in terms of quality of content reports, including the TOP 5,to the DEVs on the issues important to the SL profession. But, he can't make the DEVs read them. Throughout his tenure, he has urged our forum to remain positive, when many (including me),were furious at being totally ignored and wanted him to rant>If you want to conclude it is Capt V's fault because he posted a link instead of a list, I suppose that is your right. However, I think the thread between Capt V and TH, should be viewed in the light of the background of the Squad Leader profession and Capt V's hard work being ignored since launch, I believe you will conclude that TH was much more at fault. I guess TH would rather run off the SL correspondent than click on a link to our top 5 list. That being said, Im not suggesting that TH be fired or should resign, merely that he was at fault in this interchange.
Thanks for your consideration.
For one thing, I resent squad leaders coming in here and acting like we don't know what it is like to be ignored by the developers. I find that highly insulting and rude.
Secondly, you have only heard Capt V's side of the story. Should try to get both sides of the story before passing judgement on who is right and who is wrong.
Now I am asking the moderators to close this thread because it has absolutely nothing to do with chefs.
I'm sure that TH probably has a different view of the situation, and I'd love to read the actual thread (If I could have access to that board for even an hour! Christmas time!).
I'm going to agree with the consensus here and believe that both sides were too rigid on the subject. Throw in some genuine miscommunication and the pressure of a really broken profession (I'm going to cross party lines for a sec and say that SL is much worse off than Chef), and yes, this is almost expected.
I hope that the new SL coorespondant brings in less baggage to the job and maybe there will be more comprimise next time. This could be a great example for rotating coorespondants out, because I'm sure everyone gets burned out eventually (even you SirVimes!), and I would hate to think that Captain would quit the game entirely over this. Good luck SLs.
