Cyene,

It was the same thing when they first introduced the practice button and it gave out 25% xp instead of 5%. It wasn't something you had to go out of your way to do it just happened.

You are a cheat or exploiter if you deliberately use a know bug.

You are NOT a cheat using the skills you HAVE to use to play the profession in a natural way that is bugged in a way that gives an advantage.
You are a moron if you call call every member of a profession a cheat, and yes, Ill flame you to hell & back for it.

If you were a pistol user and pistols suddenly gave double the XP theyre supposed to, ,wouod you NEVER fire a pistol until it was fixed ? I think not, now please crawl back into the hole from whencec you came

I fail to understand some people's anger (envy) towards master artisans, ESPECIALLY master chefs. While I understand some artisans are useless for selling products until they get master, chefs can run with the big boys at mix2. You aren't going to find a whole lot of powerleveling (or even part-time, for that matter) chefs.

The devs underestimated the time people would powerlevel to master, and have yet to fix a lot of higher level content. Just take it easy, and forget about the exploits. If the bugs aren't fixed in a timely manner and the exploit is left untreated, it becomes even harder to remove for the sake of incoming players. I don't particularly care too much about the advancement of the other chefs on my server, except when it comes to finding someone to teach me skills. While I'm a pretty casual gamer (and I know everyone seems to say that), I'll get there when I get there, probably just in time for SOE to make an elite-elite chef class (lol).

As far as guilty pleasures though, I love a good troll post every now and then

" So if I filled a few bags with food, and handed them to my CH friends, and they would use it to heal their pet, that is not my problem if it gives me UXP for each."

It's exactly your problem.

You say, sorry guys, "I'm not going to give my own pets food, and I'm not going to give food to people that I know are only using it for their pets... For that they can take up novice artisanship and make their own, or use people from the bazaar that don't know their food is going to cheating. But since I know in my heart that I shouldn't be earning Uexp form CHs' pets, I cannot knowingly give you food to do such a thing....."

Such is the thing of a responsible NON EXPLOITER. Of course the average exploiter won't be reading this so I'm preaching to the deaf choir.

or is it the enlightened quoir... either way....

If I were a chef at the time when this exploit was available(I wasn't I was a dabler silly Homemaker) I wouldn't (and didn't) give ANY food to known CH's. I would never knowingly participate in something I knew what a bug/exploit. And lets face it......

If something is a bug and benefits you.. It is an exploit. That's the very definition.

I would slow down my own progress so that I could know that I did it "right."

Now I know there's a lot of you out there that thing "right" from "wrong" is a purely pragmatic existence. And I would put it that none of you have ever ever face the pragmatic choice of "roof over your head" or, "something to eat." EVEN IN THAT SITUATION, right from wrong exists in the moral person. But here we are in a game, and I put forth to you, that anyone who says:

:"I know it was a bug, I reported it as such. But, since the devs didnt' do anything about it, I went on about (exploiting: put any word you want to here, but match it up, "exploiting," fits) it."

IS WRONG.

The person who is ignorant.... there is discussion....

The person who considers it... there is discussion.... if a bit less...

The person who reported it? If it wasn't a bug, why report it?

Give me a break, and look at the mirror.

Your actions are your own.

Own them.

The never cheated yet very happy with this game..

I don't normally respond to such things, but I have to say it doesn't matter. In MMORPG's you are going to find all kinds of people. A lot of people come from games like EQ where grinding is a way of life. It's nothing for these people to sit and do the same thing for 8-10 hours a day for weeks on end. SWG is peanuts compard to some of the other games I've played.

You are going to find uber guildswho will pile money and resources onto crafters so they can become masters. It happend in DAoC and other games and its going to happen in SWG. Most people who play SWG are people who care nothign for the journey, a box is just one more speed bump on the way to where they are gonig.

You can't care how other people play or what other people are doing or it will just eat you up alive. There is nothing you can do to stop someone from sitting in front of a crafting station for 6hours straight and grinding. There are great injustices in these games. If they become too great the only thing you can do is quit, because nothing is going to change. Welcome to RL where people who cheat and exploit get ahead every day. I have people who call in sick at work all the time and manipulate the system and the other 90% pay a steep price for this. Welcome to our society in the 21st century and problaby every other century too.

The best you can do is find what is fun for you and dont' worry about everyone else.

Yeah all of this debating will change nothing. People have a choice and they choose whatever. You can't go up to them in real life and put a gun to their head and then say "Don't exploit SWG or I'll KEEL YOU!"

Hhahaha, I can bet you 100k credits there are some zealots out there like that.

Besides, why grind? Why not spend 2 hours accumulating resources for 2 pieces of a weapon or armor that only comes out to be as good as a well-experimented cdef weapon or bone armor piece. I don't know about you but I like to at least make something decent. The system in this game was designed so that unless you had some decent experimentation points, you'd be making crap that hardly anyone would buy or buy it for a price that is just simply a complete waste of time.

Thus, why people grind, to get the good basic selling items and then some extra EXP. points to make those items even better, or at least somewhat worth selling to people.

Besides, I'm glad there were masters that came out much sooner because of the factory xp, allowed me to buy some uber items for relatively cheap and often. And no, masters did not monopolize the economy, look at how hard it is to keep up with "demand." It's too overwhelming for most of them w/o spending 3 hours each day.

I grinded from novice artisan all the way to cooking 4 and mixology 2 (chef). Took almost no time at all with harvesters, macro sampling, and buying resources. It's cake.

I'm not really into flame wars and the like..nor am I anywhere NEAR master chef..I'm at mix1 right now. I'm not grinding anything really, I'm just having a good time in my awesome cantina.(the oneI built on my own)

But who the heck is this guy? Are you even a chef? Are you even playing this game...I just...like....wow...what the freak. This is like my grandma yelling at me or something...

Ispet UXP not working as intended?I thought we were supposed to get uxp for pets eating my food. I sure as heck MAKE it for them.

I honestly cant see why anyone would have thought that feeding creatures giving uxp was a bug... It's called use xp because you're awarded xp for other people using it. This includes using it to feed their pets. Now pets having no feeding limit is an oversight. When you hand 30 stacks of wastril bread to your CH friend to go through in a huge creature feeding frenzy, then, and only then does this become an exploit, since you are knowingly exploiting a developer oversight.

Holocron said uxp is currently as intended to be(including the pets) in his dev response(apart from it only being rewarded while online/same planet, when it should always be awarded)
