Thread: The big, bad Chef FAQ

Update the price of Tatooine Sunburn to ba around 200 credits per use.

Milk and Eggs, Milk still isn't in the game in any measurable quantity, but eggs are. Too bad that we have no recipes that use them.

Factories are no longer bugged (thank god), they now give the right amount of uses that the schematic calls for.

Not sure about UXP still, I have heard that there are sporadic problems with it, but since I am master now, I can't investigate.

Bio-E components still are messed up. Some say they do have an effect, others say they don't . I find that they do not have a measurable effect for myself.

On another note, if you are looking for a quick regeneration of stats, say camping or something, just eat something that will buff your Constitution, Stamina, or Willpower. This is helpful if you have a sampling macro. I really haven't had much success buffing the regen stats in battle, because I am constantly using those pools to fight with, and they are constantly getting hit. That's why I generally just buff my Strength, Quickness, and Focus stats instead of my regens. Just another note from a novice chef.

Great post Drenarb! Thank you for adding a little to the FAQ.

I'd like to remind everyone that we can use this post as both a ask/answer question area and also a tips area. If you have a tip for young chefs, please post it here! =o)

Have a good one

I am posting this to help all the "Holo Chefs" understand how to grind through the Chef Profession as quickly and as cheaply as possible. I assume you can getDomestic Arts IVon your own. I personally made a lot of weapon powerups andK-18 Rations (pet food)but there are a number of other items you can make as well. You don't likely need instructions on that.

Once you hit Novice Chef, you really only have one choice for grindable food at that level: Wastril Bread. Wastril Bread requires35 cereal and 10 fruit (any type of cereal or fruit will do). Like all Chef food, it awards you about 2 exp points per unit of resource used. Make sure you use practice mode, which gives you a small extra bit of exp. Thus, you willget about100 exp for each Wastril Bread you make. When you get enough for a box, take Entrees I, which will give you access to Stewed Gwouch, which requires 20 water and 30 organic (any flora, hide, bone, or meatwill do, which is why it is nice). Stewed Gouch is better than Wastril Bread because the components are easier to find and it gives you slightly more exp. Next, take Mixology I and then Mixology II. This will give you access to Ithorian Mists, which require 40 wheat, 20 corn and 20 water. These are not hard to find and they require 80 units, so you are getting about 175 exp each attempt. Use Ithorian Mist to grind all the way to Master Chef.

When you grind, make sure you have 4 or 5 food/chem manufacturing kits. You can use them all sequentially, and the first will be ready to go when you are just about done with the last. Also, note that you can grind while running around (but not in combat or while swimming).

Don't thank me for this post. Rather, after you have ground yourself through our profession, and then moved on to the next profession, do us a favor. Notethe broken schematics, the schematics that require milk (which is next-to-impossible to find), all of theuseless and unnecessarily duplicativefoods and drinks we can make, and the screwy organization to the food, drink and dessert lines. Then, make a post and tell the Devs how badly our profession needs their attention. Even our very attentive and well-meaning Correspondent has not been successful at getting us any help. We need your voices.

Tell us about it, Apocaliptus. We've been dealing with it for nearly 5 months now. Be glad it's not your chosen profession.

Thanks, Vishna. One things though: most of the people that come here looking for a list of the food aren't going to take the time to look through our posts. There are about 5 posts on this already.

Question: What macros can I use to make 'the grind' quicker?

Answer: There are mixed feelings about this subject I suppose (not so much as with other professions, as you still have to do some manual input. :yoda But I've seenthe questionenough that I thought I should add it to the FAQ,,, Here is ONE example (there are plenty of others, I'm sure):

Most of the Chef products I have been using lately have been of the beverage variety. I am currently looking for a "food" type chef product that gives me maximum benifit on my secondary stats (mind and action sub stats primaraly) for the longest period of time. What do you reccomend I order from you all?

Thank you.

Question I thought might be useful that non-chefs ask:-

1. How long is it between when you can use food and drink buffs? ie. If I eat something, the buff lasts 2 minutes. How long before I can eat it again? Same for drink.
