I posted this in a different forum, but this seems like a good place for it. I know the schematics DON'T state what stat are important. In fact they state very little useful inofrmation. I did some tests of my own, using schematics that allowed for hide and bone (with unit toughness) to find out on my own.

Alright, I did a bunch of different combinations of veghash last night, and here's what I know now:

Experiment:
-Make veghash with identical soypro, and as many cobinations of cereal, hide, vegetables that I had.
-Count the squares (The small ones that say how close you are to 100%) and multiply by 27.5 to get a number for the theoretical maximum (out of 1000)
-Apply fancy mathemagical techniques to determine which stats are likely to affects which exp values.
-I ignored the effects of the components, which may not have been the best idea.
-There was a total of 18 different combinations for this data set.

Results:
Exp. Flavour and Texture
-Flavour has nothing to do with anything, Got 4% for nutrition, but that's not enough to proove anything. 0% for the others
-UT is the most prominant in Exp. flavour (At about 33%)
-DR,PE,OQ seem to contribute equally to the remaining points
-There is still some missing factor affecting Exp. Flavour. The sum of all stats only added to 75%

Exp Nutrition
-Looks like about 66%PE, 33%OQ, but I think this is messed up in the math. Malleability is listed as 15% as well, which I'm pretty sure has nothing to do with it. This will be verified when I get more data

Exp Quantity
-Very close to 100%OQ, again messed up by lack of data.

I'm going to do the same tests with only flora food. Hopefully I'll get a better idea when there's not malleability to deal with.

Thanks for describing the issue eloquently.

People have been posting that all chef buff should be simply factored up by some level...

The core problem is that the food calulation is broken - part of the reason why all the durations and buffs are so crappy - people have experimented that Unit Toughness is one factor that is used - which few organic material have to begin with (wood) and not used in a lot of higher recipes. And experimentation is worthless.

And here I was thinking I was imagining things! Great post! Hopefully it will get some attention. I'm sick of how a spice like Muon Gold only uses a few generic resources and overpowers most of what we have that takes double or triple the work to make! If we had the experimentation fixed, I wouldn't complain about spices or DA4 anymore.

Did I mention that all my food has no preservatives added?

To preserve freshness, just shake and /bump.

Again, a reminder that one of the core functionalities of the class is still unfixed.

Truly excellent post and it brings up another issue

It would be soooo nice to have some idea what is going on while you're crafting

If you're in combat you see line after line of what they did, what you did, how much your armour absorbed

When I'm crafting I have no idea what is happening other than the basic - oh that number went up

It would be nice to get feedback in the game
