LOL!!!!!!!! yay i love it..you know i had a thought why do we bother to complain?! no one cares if they had cared they wouldn't have done this.. the reaction should be just like yours or whoa! a new game they sure didn't ask the few chefs around..and they figure there will be lots more new chefs and they won't ever realize just how much the devs nerfed the chef today in a year from now everyone will have forgotten and a whole new group of chefs and most of us will be in another game!...wonder why lol

How ironic is that statement.

I'm not satisfied enough with the changes to return to the game full-time.

Long factory runs for items that will disappear from the vendors within hours of putting it up is a BAD IDEA (TM).

Naturally, I'm sure people screamed and yelled at the Devs and they didn't listen.

and to "force" us, the chefs and master chefs, to be dependent on artisans, tailors and BE's? Go figure! I don't play this game to be dependent on anyone...I can do that in real life!

This is the same argument as the "forced PVP" that is going around. Noone is forcing you to use additives. Noone is forcing you to make drinking with something higher than the current amount. Suppostedly Brandy comes out in about 7 charges. Why is that so horrible? Didn't Fishak come out close to that?

There is no reason why a Master Chef can't still sell food. Being dependent would mean that you can't make food without their help. That isn't true at all.

Sorry to see a lot of long time chefs go, but if people are leaving based on some little issues like not being dependent on others then there was probably other issues that you were having problems with before this patch. The patch was just want pushed you over the edge, not what got you to the edge.

Um, what are you complaining about? You can still technically make your food with out anyone elses help.As a smuggler if I want to slice anything more than a terminal, I'm dependant on and Armorsmith, or a Weaponsmith...I don't even get a choice of slicing with lesser results. I would look around armorsmiths are dependent on Tailors for cloth, and I'm sure there are more dependencies that you could find. Having to buy something from another crafter isn't that big of a deal.

Post like this are what completely tick me off. If you want to make CRAP MAKE CRAP, but dont fuss at someone who prides theirself on making something that is actually useful and one of the best stats on the server. I fully plan on ONLY making BE stuff. What is the point of buying something that buffs you so little that it is barely noticable?

Oh and the smuggler examplething, Dude go back to your little hole you came out of. Your purpose is to ENHANCE existing items, to HACK them and make existing things better. You are not reliant on a Droid engineer to make your clamps or analyzers are you? ummmmm NO. So please be educated before you post. Now I do have a question on a point you have, and I pose this question because to inform myself because I am uneducated on this. Does the quality of the tailored cloth make or break the quality of the armor or is it just a sub? I have no problems using master artisan items or tailor items to make containers, because they do NOT effect the quality of the items I produce. Bascially without a good BE and a fairly impossible resource to gather to mass produce we are useless.

Ok, there's no way in bloody hell that i'm reading this whole thread....I'm sure someone's said it already, but here goes.

The proffession interdependancies are annoying, granted, but they're a good way of getting people together. I just find it very odd that people will pay high monthly fees for a Massively Multiplayer Online Game, then **edit** and moan when they can't go along their merry way and solo the rest of thier lives. It's completely pointless.

Sure, it's kind of annoying that they 'force' us to interact....but I believe it's for the best.

Also, I love the idea of moving away from stat buffs....there's enough of them in the market already. It's going to take them a while to fix it to where it works, but it'll be worth the wait.

I do agree that making these game-changing patches come out early is horrible, what's the reason to do it? If they finish early, they should try fixing other things (hint: barrels) that might not have been fixed in time.

Anywho, if you want to solo....go play with yourself somewhere else.

..... The new chef items are AWESOME, from a non-chefs perspective.

What are you all whining about? Interdependancy? Welcome to SWG. These new foods are awesome and are a boon to your profession and anyone who uses them, and I expect that your sales will skyrocket.

Nikii_nightstrider:*pulls hair out* well when you are forced to buy sh*tty food because the BEs cant get enough meat to make the supplements that ARE required to make the food be worthwhile, are you going to buy the crapola anyway? From what I see right now, the only thing in this patch that makes a good chef (as far as food) is how good of a BE they have access too and how many hundreds of rangers they have working for them.

oh, poor me, Im a have not, cry cry cry.

Nikii_Nightstrider: Big freaking whoop, we can make it without a BE..and it can rot on the vendor cause it sucks so bad no one wants it...yay! Im so glad I can dump resources. The weaponsmith and armorsmith dont determine how good of a smuggler you are. The tailor doesnt determine how good the armorsmith is. So why does my BE determine how good I am?

Oh you have had soooo long to markest test this? I haven't seen anything new for sale yet, and I have my pocket book ready.

Chef food seems to have been balanced with BE additives in them. So anything with less is nothing but garbage.

Again, same point, Im looking for anything to buy, I have no food, and I don't want pre patch food. Maybe if you stoped whining, and got crafting, you could make some money.

I agree the changes are awesome.

Regarding the initial poster: No one is forcing you to make high end Chef foods. If you want to "solo" cooking, then make the normal stuff without additives. It's the same reasoning with the combat classes. No one is forcing combatants to use food buffs, and they can fight withoutit, but if they do, their combat effectiveness will be substantially increased.

To have an edge in combat, food buffs will be a defacto requirement. The uber folk will buy your food regardless, and you could just mark up the cost of the food to compensate for the BE additives.

Personally, I plan to make "fast foods"without BE additives. These would be priced around for example, 1000 credits. And my other line of foods will be the "gourmet foods" with BE additives. These would be priced around, for example, 2000 credits.

ya, good point, people should learn what they are about to talk about before they post.

smugglers need an item from weaponsmiths to slice weapons, and armorsmiths to slice armor.

I agree these changes totally suck, I played UO,EQ,MCO and never complained about changes, but what they did to chef makes me want to go back to UO. They totally destroyed it, crafting is too complex, and they took away the 2 best drinks !!!!!! If I wanted to play test my real characters would never get anywhere. The reason I even have time to come to the boards is because they messed chef up so bad I turned the game off after 5 mins of shock, and I will not restart SWG until the put chef back the way it was and rethink this debacle!!!!!

I dont cater to as*holes sorry.

Frankly I think I know a lot more about this revamp than you do. Ive been following it every day since the first snippit was available. I logged into test to play with stuff as much as I could. Ive been a chef since like july or something like that so I know a smidge about the profession. So how about you take your snotty little ignorant self back to the jedi forum to post for phatt lewts or something.
