I'm pretty sure the droid just harvests for you... ie when it harvests, it's as if you did. It's an efficiency thing really. Once you kill something, you tell your droid to harvest while you target the next. It doesn't let you stack harvests. Has anyone cleared out like 5 rancors... and before you could harvest them all, one or 2 poofed? This droid helps that. It's convenient, nothing more.
