Thread: +544 for 44:30 Brandy

Yeap, and adding another 25% onto the base (+240) isn't gonna be enough to crank that up another 100 power either. I mentioned this in the original Kettemore thread and it got ignored. I think Ikooga was probably right about the 2 serials being different 'cause they're from different pics (ie photoshopped).

Even *if* this did raise the adds 25 points from a perfect 90% to a 115% add. This would still not bring it to 544. I've actually dealt with this player before in an auction he reneged on once. I'd advise that you don't take him seriously, in my experience he's a moron and a griefer.

I'm going to tentatively call BS.

1) From all previous information, secret research data should not be able to be used in factory runs. It's supposed to give a big bonus to a tissue, but only for a single stack. A limited-use item might be reasonable, but his description of "putting the data disk into the input hopper" when doing the run of tissues sounds a little phoney. However, I could easily see a bug allowing that to happen. That would make the results valid, but the factory run bugged/exploited (depending on how you want to make the call).

2) The Bivoli comments are laughable ("any chef can make +27", they just don't because the bonus caps), but may just be ego-stroking exageration. The idea that food bonuses cap is pretty common among players.

3) Blacking out the serial numbers so CSRs who also playcan't use their tools to track down the source of the data (and then break the poster's current monopoly) seems overly paranoid.

I ran some numbers, and +544 would be possible for a 12 point chef with good resources (I used numbers from the top PE/OQ resources on kettemoor available in the last 6 months) if the research data gave +50 to an 87 BSN (total +137). That's not too unreasonable (although screwed up with multi-use and factory runs). I talked a bit to GreenMarine (the dev who worked on the chef revamp), and he mentioned the data giving a 2x boost to the tissue's effectiveness. Granted, that was over six months ago, so changes aren't unexpected.

I passed this on to the devs with a simple question: Is the research data available in-game right now? Yes/No. If they say yes, this might just be legit.

What caught me is the fact that the guy stated that the Secret Research Data added 25 to the power of his nutrients. With a 25 bonus to your BSN like he claims he has, it's just not possible.

I also don't believe what he's saying about serial numbers being some complex mathematical formula that will allow you to track down where the components came from. Isn't it just a random number put on everything player crafted for use in factories?

/shrug; whatever... I'm done thinking about this. Even if it's true I still believe the guy's a total loser for trying to keep something that would better everyone a secret.

This is the guy who said he was the Shipwright correspondant just to secure he got a lot of sales from the +2 experimentation points. However that has been disproved for many reasons.

He would need 18 research data to do a crate of 15. Nothing drops in sets of 18. My guess is some exploit with getting a heavy additive into brandy. Even still, that is very nice base brandy go get it up to that number.

I am guessing that the serial number is removed because he is afraid the CSRs can track it down that way.

Ah, I missed the +25 comment. So if he had a +113 BSN (assuming an 88 with +25 from the data), he'd have to hit +255 on the en-enhanced Brandy, which takes 117% experimentation.

Then he's either perpetuating a hoax, exploiting, hopped up on some bad spice, or clueless.

All my food crates have two "Object Creators" listed on them. (Took out a bunch of stuff that was wrong)

EDIT: Okay, I see what you were saying actually, but I'll leave my reasoning here. If the crate is SPLIT, then it doesn't have the two listings.

If the +544 brandy was either created with only enough resources in the hopper to make 15 items, or if enough single stacks were split off, then it would still have the two Object Creators. If it was split into a unit of 15, then it would have only one.

The Research Data is not in game yet, take it from a long term BE that listens, reads, watches, and talks with almost every forum, website, and fellow BE I can find. If NO BE has found or heard of it being put it.....IT AINT THERE. Not sure if this guy is pulling the galaxy's leg or what, but it has NOTHING to do with BE additives.

My hunch: if/when research data is added to the game, it'll be a random result of a datadisk repair. If so, they only had a chance of dropping since publish 12.0. Although some quest for BEs to get it would be nice too.

Which reminds me, I need to go poke the devs about whether the datais in-game or not. I'll definitely be back if I get a response.

The object creator listing has always been buggy. I wouldn't make too much of anything where that is concerned.

BTW some guy on the armorsmith forum made 44% stun armor a while back. Everyone cried exploit until it was explain how it was done then a bunch of others were able to do the same thing.

I still think this one smells fishy though.

overlay of brandy info with "real" brandy

Everything lines up okay, except for one thing: How do you get an Item Creator listing on a crate? I tried splitting it and stuff and it wouldn't do anything.

Edit: Also take note of the "544" number. His brandy lasts for 44 minutes, and he split the crate to 15. Sounds like easy-bake photoshopping with real-looking numbers

Well, Tiggs locked the original thread on Kettemore saying that it was "investigated by CS and isn't happening."

That was a great waste of everyone's time. My +432, 47 min brandy still seems so unsatisfying
