+400 focus does nothing for me, save letting me wear armor like it wasn't on, yet my specials would still do 150 to my own mind (I start out with 800 btw). I need at least 800 from chef buffs to be able to shoot more than a minute. Curses!

Just curious, how often do you use regular, non-special attacks? In case you hadn't seen it yet, or it was stated in a way that was unclear, let me try (please correct me if this is in error):

The new Combat revamp is completely focused on STOPPING people from spamming specials. NO MORE SPAMMING SPECIALS after the Combat revamp. You will not be able to SPAM specials after the Combat revamp.

Not trying to be a jerk, but it seems like a LOT of people are focused only on Specials. I agree with many others who wish they would hold this Chef Patch till the final piece of the Combat revamp goes in, since we *will* be making unattractive foods when the Patch hits, beause the combat system hasn't finished yet. But in a couple months, the last pieces will fall in place and Chef will fill its targetted role.

SO essentially, what will happen is that a LOT of poeple will have to re-evaluate the method they fight. Everyone spams specials (me too) rightnow because they do more damage. More damage=good. Who cares about groups, tactics, pet support, etc... when i can spam a 3k-1 per second-90% accurate-Mind Shot? I look forward to seeing combat approached differently. Its too easy to kill **edit** in this game solo. I also look forward to having a variety of things to make that are attractive to a wide variety of people, instead of us supplying only PvP'ers and other focused combat types with a buff.

Also, with character copy to test going in soon, it should be much easier for a quantity ofus to go over to test and try our stuff out when the combat revamp goes to TC. This should alleviate some of the secondhand information scaring a lot of chefs right now, both by increasing resources and chefs available, andsubjects for our cruel experiments on the poor denizens of Test Center. Mua ha ha ha, even with Vishna on leave, her evil spirit lives on!!

I don't have very good resources on TestCenter, so that isn't as good as it can get. However, I didn't some regression analysis and I can tell you:

Vasarian Brandy
Buff: 110-180 (150 at 50% nutrition)
Duration: 30-60 minutes (45 minutes at 50% flavor)
Filling: 47-32 (38 at 50% filling)

lol, cute Leilani, but not the metaphor I was using at all ... you know what I meant and I haven't seen any rational response to it yet.

As far as buffing mind 1000. You'll have to talk to a dancer about that. And Give them some food to speed the process up *wink*

You'll forgive me if I don't want to be at the mercy of finding a non-afk entertainer to get adequately buffed for combat ... especially after all the hologrinders leave the profession ... anybody who thinks that is a suitable replacement for decent foods just doesn't PvP. Yet it wouldn't shock me at all if this was the devs' (unrealistic) expectation of players.

lets also not forget that before too long Mind won't be the combat-bottleneck it used to be.

Well, yeah great ... "someday" ... and someday we'll have flying cars and robots to serve our every need, but until I see it I'd rather not design other systems around that desire. Kill our decent mind-buff foods when that "someday" arrives, but not one nanosecond before.

Sorry Akkori, but most of the people who have been playing since Day 1 take "a couple of months" promises from the devs as being "someday, god knows when" .... we just don't believe it because we've been given no reason to believe it. We object to irrational, unbalanced code revisions because ... they're unbalanced and irrational. Removing the good foods because of a combat rebalance that will happen "soon" is like selling me bald tires for the winter because you're promising me that "soon" you'll give me a car with antigravity that won't need tires at all. Great but ... I'm skeptical that you'll ever deliver that and there's no reason I should have to drive on bald tires now when you still have perfectly good tires available!

Not to be a jerk, but we do have antigravity cars that don't need tires. The devs put them in the last publish if you didn't notice, they're pretty nice!

OK, I concede this part of the battle

That doesnt sound too bad, can you remember the stats on the resources you used & do you thing you could get the end product higher ?

I'm a little more cheered up after reading this, and look forward to more results.

A big thanks to all those on the TC.
