Is there any specific planet on Test that would be more chef-friendly than others?

Tatooine and Naboo are where most of the TC players are.

I am in the same boat. I started a test center account, started trying to grind and said "Forget this $%#^". I Guess I'd had enough craft grinding. If Character Copy is available I'll definately be there to test.

Unfortunately the timeframe mentioned in the Stratics SWG Developers' chat was two months for character copy. Part of the limitation of test center is getting your hands on materials and equipment. Crafted items are of limited availability and resources are a pain to acquire. Perhaps they could put in some TC-only 'vendors' that would give out free resources and basic equipment (crafting tools, surveying tools, weapons, etc). Then at least if CC isn't available, powergrinding becomes that much easier.

Serious, you don't expect anyone of us, to grind through chef on testcenter, knowing character copy is in place in about two month?

Don't get me wrong, I have a character on test, and I am willing to help, but I think it is a bit out of relation to ask anyone to get through the pain of grinding to master -not to mention to collect possibly rare ressources to test recipies for functionality.

Copy some of us and you will get some very reliable feedback.

I'll try to get on TC myself, although, I'm working my hardest to get Master Chef with my real character right now... I'm tired of every other person in the guild using their lots to hold my cantina for me.

I would be happy to help test on the TC, but I agree we need to be able to CC. I am not going to waste time grinding another MC, plus I dont think I would have enough time to start a charater from scratch and grind it to MC before the changes go into effect.

If the Character Copy works, I'll help out with making Bio-Engineered food supplements. But only if the Character Copy is in. No way in hell I'm grinding up Bio-Engineer again.

No one expects you to, tho some people may volunteer to, but I personally believe it is the dev teams responsibility to provide us with the means to test.

Having said that, how can you test skill progession with the new system, unless some people are prepared to skill up.
Having thought it over, if the devs can provide the resources, I'll grind it to see (after doing Master Chef twice, Master Architect, Master DE, Master BE, plus assorted other bits, I can grind pretty fast given the resources )

The announcement of mounts didn't do it. The announcement of vehicles didn't do it.

This announcement will get me onto TC.

One question, though: does TC have occasional character wipes? And will we have to worry about that over the next month or so before the new foods go live? My work is having "mandatory" holiday vacation (basically the offices shut down, but you have to use up your own accrued vacation days), so I'll have quite a bit of free time between Christmas and new years to spend leveling up a TC chef.

Hmm, ok I'll need dom Arts, surveying, probably engineering to work on my own harvs, some scout for meat, probably a bit of marksman...

Right there with you. I had forgotten how hard it was to start a new character.

I am actually looking forward to working with the new character. Artisan shouldn't be too hard, but I don't know how much chef I can get though.
