Thread: Where are the bartenders?
I agree food needs to be equipped justdrinking it from inventory is really pointless

I enjoy acting as Bartender for the RP aspect, but the problem is I can't even GIVE away more than 3 or 4 food/drink intems in an hour as a bartender, let alone sell anything. I've found it much more productive to sell on the Bazaar where I can sell 8 to 10 items in a couple of hours.
One of the reasons I don't buy hides or meat off people in the bar is that most of the time they want too much for them and they don't want to buy my product. If a scout wants to buy a few drinks and sell me his hides & meat, I'll usually try to negotiate with him.
Reporting in as one of [at least] two bartenders on Tatooine, Bria - in fact I just won over the Mos Espa cantina last night in a little competition of domestic mixology and gunplay.
If anything I'd like to learn a little mixology and cookery now, so two months from now I can kick back and mix up a decent drink for myself. Plus I've found the cantina environment to be pretty fun RP.

It also helps with server recognition. The more people spreading the benefits of consuming food and drink, the more you'll sell.
From another thread it looks like there's at least 14 chefs on the Chilastra server. This could easily be the reason why I've never had problems selling my items on the marketplace or in cantinas while I'm bartending.
I spent the first two weeks just running everywhere, handing out samples and screaming that food and drink will help immensly. Just keep shouting and once people start to understand, they'll come and harass you for more 
I have a few friends that I've given food/drink to and shown them the light....
I figure they and Iwill have an advantage that others don't. If people don't want to buy food/drink, then phoooey on them. Their loss, not mine. If I can't make it, at least I know how to get it and I'll just buff up and kick-arse.
Im working chef on the side partly for RP aspects, and partly because I know at the higher levels chefs can give REALLY REALLY good buffs from their foods.
I can't even give away the food/beer I make, nobody wants it even when it's free. The buggy trade window does not help one bit either.
I've tried bartending in Kaadara one night, made 75 cr....

If you're from a EQ/DAoC background think of chefs as shaman, they ARE very important for RP aspects AND combat aspects. People will realize this down the road I think, but for now, early on in the game, the road to being a chef/bartender will be very hard and unrewarding.
