Thread: Where are the bartenders?

Players:

None of the cantinas that I have been to have bartenders other than a couple of NPC ones. Chefs stop making food and start making Corellian Ale and tasty cocktails if you want money. I would gladly pay some of my hard earned mission creds to sit back and relax and have a beer.

Devs:

Make drinksand foodhave the ability to be equipped. It doesn't look cool to have a drink if no one can see you have it. Make food and drinks have more than one "use" "eat". I don't eat or drink in one swallow. I usually get at least three sips out of my beer before it is gone.

For the most part, players aren't going to pay to drink some stuff that's virtual. I've been at the local cantinas and yeah some players do ask for drinks as roleplaying...but for the most part it's a joke.

It's tough enough to make money as a chef, selling drinks for 25 credits each a few times a night won't cut it. I'm not saying there aren't people bartending, but the chef profession IS HARD! It's not easy. XP is

You can say that again. I make some good pay off bartending, as long as I bring enough water.

I have seen a bartender before, I think it was in Kaaren, Naboo....not really sure since all the cantinas look the same no matter what world you're on......

being a scout I tried to sell him some of my spoils from hunting, but he said he had way too many resources as it was.....

So where can I go to sell all this creature meat that i have no use for???

I don't make too much on the drink itself, but I get some customers who are excellent tippers.

no, most of them tip me because they like having me there, and don't want me wandering off for other cantinas. I think when lively cantina has a bartender, everyone enjoys the environment even more.

You're right saitek, one of the things I kinda missed about the cantinas when SWG first started was there wasn't any bartender...no one to say "No droids, they'll have to wait outside, we don't want them here!" And stuff like that. Most of the time when I'm in a cantina now, there's a bunch of AFK dancers and a bunch of marksmen sitting on the floor quietly. How do YOU make the place more lively?

I always try to provide comic relief when possible, "Hey there handsome what can I get you", typical bartender stuff, I also try and get involved in a lot of the conversations or I try to start them as I spend most of my day standing in one spot. And I usually cheer on the entertainers. I have to admit I work at a bar that can get pretty busy, but after standing there for a week, people actually stop by to see me and pound back a few beers, just like people would in a real bar.

Yesterday it was funny, some kid challenged me to a dual,I said to him, "Dude, you gotta be so lame if you are challenging the bartender to a dual"

I'm a bartender on Lowca in Kaadara, Naboo. I go out only to take a look at my harvesters or get some resources for food and drinks.
