Well, understand, there are some simplifications going on here.
Not sure if TM+TH is 4MR and TM+MR is 3.4MR as solo vs group dynamics are in play but is is a fair simplification as TM+TM>TM+MR>TM>MR all things being equal (citerus parabus). How exactly the ratios factor I'm guessing at, due to Phenix's experience. I must say, although I have not actually quantified it, I can see them in practice being just about correct. Having a defense hole is half a template and is just about half effective currently. Not having a competitive set up of a master combat profession is even worse (especially for Riflemen). This is a thought experiment only, I'd like to see some real world results.
BTW, as Tiggs just pointed out this may be worse, as MR+TM is 1.2*1.4y + 1.4*2y which is actually 4.48y indicating even less "effectiveness" when TM is deciding on whether to add said "gimpified" ranger along for the ride or not. Now one ranger being asked to enhance the rest of the 19 TM's, I can see that happening but I don't see hords of rangers swelling our ranks as the benifit to _them_ is a tad dubious. Dunno, I'm waiting on actual TC reports. I could be just a worry wort here...
