Ah ha. Figured out using CRE how to determine any "down time" you will suffer the effects of not being under full buff.

Down Time (DT) = (1 - CRE) * Stomach Decay Time (SDT)

So with the current SDT being 45 minutes

DT = (1 - CRE) * 45min

So with a CRE >=1 your DT will be either zero or negative, indicating that you will never be without buff. With my VB I used in previous examples that had a RE of 1.87, an attempt to use 2 will give a CRE of 0.93 and a DT of 2.9 minutes (where you will be under the effect of half buff)

The Canap I have with a RE of 0.67 will have a DT of 14 minutes. Since the filling is not 100% tho, you will be able to maintain a full buff for a while as your stomach fills, but once it reaches full you will have a 14.8 minute down time waiting for it to empty enough to use again. If you want to eat 2 canaps at a time, the time you will have to wait before using 2 again will be 29.9 minutes.

I'm pretty sure this is right here. All coming to me pretty quick so I may have missed something. I'll double check the math and let you know if I screwed anything up.

Whew, Eaca I think I want to marry you and have your babies....

Usually I'm the one reducing people to blubbering heaps with loads of math. I had some post where I was going over the relationship between final results and resource quality, quantity, and stats. I may have accidently brought in some non-Euclidean geometry.

I've got a "goal" at work to pick up Java skills, and had to come up with some final project to show for it at the end. I somehow convinced my boss that a SWG crafting/buff calculator would qualify. Mind if I use your SPF/RE system for the buff part? Although boss lady said that since it's non-work related, I can't actually spend time at work to fiddle with it. Probably fair, I spend enough work hours on the forum anyway.

thx for the headache: how to make simple things complicated.

I don't know how to make things simpler for you than RE = number of buffs you can always be under the influence of. And CRE = number of combined buffs you can be under the influence of.

Go for it. Give me a holler if you have any other questions about this or my buff calculator.

bump, because with the new stomach decay, this is even more important
