I love that Jackie Chan cartoon. You should stay chef correspondent for another month just because you watch it too

I can see your next letter now...

I've come to the conclusion that buffs and durations will take a long time to balance properly, and the devs dont have the time for this. We should be looking to get experimentation fixed to work as it should, mass producing a real possibility, and the "Global buffs" on some items fixed. These fixes aren't balance issues, they're 100% bug, and the devs cant deny it. They should also be a lot easier to fix.

I think that getting those alone fixed would go a long way to helping...

Especially the global buffs one. If wedding cake works as it should, and all the items that are meant to give global buffs did, then they'd be MUCH better then they already are, and we'd be getting a healthy boost to the profession.

From optimus's chef guide:

"Dont mind the numbers in ( ) those represented additional buffs to all other statistics beside the main one and it is currently buged after they fixed the experimentation bug. "

Looking through, there's stuff like

"Glazed Glucose Pate +195 mind +195 focus -130 health -130 constitution 255s (+30 50s) " or
"Fire Stew +140 constitution -100 willpower 340s (+45 50s)"

Which I'm sure after experimentation is also applied could turn out some nice results.

Also, from what I understand, experimenting flavor and texture isn't reducing filling like it should. If things are less filling, our customers can eat more buffs at a time, allowing for overall very good buffs.

Balance can only be properly adjusted other bugs that affect it have been fixed. This is the harsh reality of things, and as a realist, I think that the devs will ignore pleas for adjustment until they can do it properly(Becuase if they do it now, and with the fixes in place, they have to rebalance again, they'd be losing a lot of time)

They're just really lazy. Give me access to the DB, and I'll fix chefs in 5 minutes, even if its as simple as
deserts 1 gives a +100 buff
deserts 2 gives a +150 buff
deserts 3 gives a +200 buff
deserts 4 gives a +250 buff

Though it would be nice if they could make it a little more complex then that, but for gods sakes I still commonly make artisan food for customers because its a lot of times just better then chef food.

But the fact that our buffs are so poor such a fundamental design flaw that I don't think this profession will be successful until they fix it. Our product is crap right now. We can ask them to fix the mass production of crap, or improve experimenting on the crap, but the stuff is still crap.

You are right, it may take longer to fix, but that is why we have to start asking for it now.

Besides, all we can do is tell them what we want fixed, it is the developers who will assign the priorities.

I'm currently succesful ingame. Not because of my guild. I just get extra lots from them, but because I've attracted a regular customer base that comes back to me frequently. It's only 20 people, but they can go through a large order in a week, and so with 3 daily large orders I'm very comfortably succesful. The buffs wont make you a god, but they will make a difference.

ah, but have you ever tried experimenting those up? A lot of those can in fact be experimented so far that

a) The debuffs turns into a buff

b) The buff is reasonably good.

The final result is better than stuff from the domarts line anyway

Most of my customers are also regulars. I am as helpful as possible to them, try to fill their orders in less than 2 hours, and it makes them happy and they always come back for more.
