See I actually haven't even considered making those. Maybe I'm just too used to getting doc buffs that a 400ish buff to action or health stats seems kind of worthless.

Now a question for you. Would you actually pay the same price for those as the mind food(mine are 50-55k, 200-210/43-46 minutes/6-7 charges). Honestly I was planning on selling it a lot cheaper, but I can't keep it on the shelf and people still come to me saying how cheap it is. I'd rather have it on the vendor than some wholesaler come and buys it all and sells it outside the starport. So give me a price of what you would pay for the same thing with health and action stats(I'm assuming they take about the same ingrediance, in all honesty I actually haven't looked at the schematics yet).

I've found that obtaining doctor buffs is like pulling teeth, and I'd rather have the flexibility of food buffs.

That sounds like an excellent price--I'd even be happy to pay 75K,since my character is not exclusively combat, and it would last me a while.

I wont spend much time making Brandy. I have yet to run a factory on it, and I've made prolly 5 by hand for friends. If I ever am in desperate need of credits (maybe soon, as I bid 10 mill for a +9 Experimentation tape) I might do a full batch and price it at the top end of what it's going for.I also will not likely use any BE tissues. I dont wanna be uber, I just wanna offer a lot of neat stuff for people to try.

I"m a chef, but I also have a combat character on another server. I love the sytnsteaks for defense. Blue Milk is awesome too. It will take awhile for people to discover what all the foods can do, but each one does have a use.

I enjoy roleplaying a chef character and overall Im happy with the "new" chef. I like the idea that I can now offer products that arent just stat modifiers. Im making and carrying a good stock of the Defense foods, Skill foods, etc. but people arent really buying them yet.

Of course the brandy flies out of the shop faster than I can make it. Now I get these combatants coming in and telling me that all the food sucks because they read about +400 brandy this and that.... Why not try out the skill or defense foods!? the filling is low, more defence is good, and more meat from a harvest is good! Their response.... "BRANDY!"

All mind food, all day... brandy brandy brandy brandy... oh my god i cant take it anymore. They are following me to my factories! Is nothing sacred?

Most of my income is from the combatants, so I doappreciate them even though they drive me crazy sometimes. I dont mean to categorize combatants as being unreasonable, but there are always a few who are.

Just try out the new foods is all I ask! I dont want to make fishak all day ... again Especially when these skill foods can add a new twist to the game. I'll even give out freeee samples, just as long as it isnt brandy!

Nope at least not about this. I just felt I should reiterate what I was told so many times when I voiced my complaints on the subject back before it went live.

hrmm well I was happy before holocrons. I was happy when we were told chef was gonna get luvin. I was happy when they changed all the fillings on the stat buffs to be more in line with what they used to be Course then they took that away for most part.I was happy when we were told we were gonna get chef hats Honestly, how many threads have I *started* just to complain? Have you ever seen...well.. any? Its funny theres so many people complaining now about only selling brandy that it brought vishna back to say something and I make one 2 line comment and I get singled out *laugh*I wonder how many of the people making comments about the lack of demand on anything but brandy were the same people who told me but look at the variety, everyone will want it all! I voiced my complaints about the menu at the time appropriate to complain about the menu. *shrug* Thats what we were supposed to do right? I came to terms with this part of the revamp several weeks back. Its the experimentation/quality/BE thing that has my panties in a wad.

I'm so with Nikii. In about every aspect. Ok check this out. I've played a Chef since Beta 3. I never have grinded other than the last few hundred points to fill out a box. I wanted to go through the profession naturally, doing some other things with Chef along the way. (I also took a 3 month break) I currently sit at 2 2 2 2. When I logged on after publish 6, there was one fricken thing that was worth a crap I could make. ONE thing that I actually liked. The other stuff was junk, absolute waste of resources.

Needless to say Im now trying to figure out what I want to be next if anything. I'm so close to quitting in general it's not even funny. And it has to do with me putting alot of work into Chef, for nothing. I was so pumped for the changes, but I don't care what anyone says....these new changes have hurt the profession. Unless you have a BE secondary account helping you out.

/rant off I hope the people continuing Chef find enjoyment. I really think the Chef community on here is more tight knit than any other profession. Peace all

If you honestly feel there is just one food worth making you have no idea how this game works. The chef profession is in excellant shape now and will only improve as people discover these new foods... It is a matter of educating the people. So what you have a few factory runs to make your product...lol... try making a single 5 use imperial detonatorand then come tell me how hard foods are to make. Or maybe try to make a 4th generation bio pet. Fact is chef had it too easy previously. Now your earning potential is 10 fold. The work involved is NOT 10 fold... I am sorry but running to a factory and inserting a schem and ingrediants is not hard work...lol

To Nikii I am sorry as I did single you out but I have seen your rants on other threads (no not ones you started). I will say my business outlook differs greatly from yours and leave it at that.

ROFL I saw this coming. Some people will like that +10 to dodge, that is a WHOLE skill block worth of a skill mod people argued. How noticeable is that1 whole skill block of skill bonus? Not very because I hear people wanting brandy, and I even saw a guy pleading for someone to make or give a waypoint to someone that makes accarragm. Yet to hear anyone say can you make ANYTHING that add to skills. +200 to health (even as small as taht is is more noticable than that bonus to defense. That is why no one cares, or not many anyway about our skill buffs. All they wantis stat buffs, will this change after the combat revamp... I doubt it, but we will see.

As for variety. I went from stocking about 10 items, to 1 BE enhance brandy. I may try to add Accarragm after I get my stock up on the brandy. But I dont think I can keep up with demand even if I could keep all 6 of my factorys running (dang meat 50cpu for meat and still dont have enough meat :smileymad

Chef was too easy before? Hrmm I see. Can I ask what your level of expertise in chef prepatch was? I have made 4th gen bio pets thanks. The thing is thats a one time sale (and its fun to do too). Thats not a 100-200 per day sale. How many people come to you and ask to buy 500 top notchpets a week. The fact is you have obviously never cheffed. I will apologize profusely if Im incorrect but I cant see any chef who has run a successfulbusinessprepatch coming up with those ideas. The chef foods themselves interest a lot of people and hopefully the brandy spree will die down and some other stuff will get recognition. Many people look at the food and say well yea they did chef right! And the earning potential MAY MAY be increased, thats debatable over the long haul. But unless you are looking at this revamp from a purely profit angleor consumer angle (debatable), this revamp has brought serious issues with it. You are right about chef now....its basically inserting a schematic and begging a BE to sell you components. We used to have to scour every planet multiple times a week for the best resources because they actually mattered a lot and no one really sells flora. They really dont matter now. We used to have to learn how to experiment stuff to get the best benefit from our points. We dont have to do that now either. Sony has pretty much made it so we can only experiment where they want us to so we will mostly all be putting our points exactly in the same spots. The work has lessened in the aspect of doing anything that remotely resembles using intelligence. Now its all about harvesting anything thats around and begging for components and making 50 factory runs a day. Its really funny that so many people think they know about chef but have no clue. I would urge you to go read the breakdown that was posted of how many resources a chef uses in a week. Then Id like to hear you say again that chefs have it easy. The devs quite obviously dont understand the sheer volume of what we do. Obviously most players do not either.

There are 2 worth making, at least from what I have heard. I dont know how hard a 4th generation pet is, your right. Please educate me, what did you do sample DNA from a clone 4 times? All I know about it was that it was time comsuming. So what. Right now I have 6 food factories sitting, basically doing nothing other than 1makingcasks.I have about 40k in meat that I cant do crap with because the BE I work with hasnt logged on in 2 days. The only other one I can find right now refused to make me a schematic cause he is a Chef also!!Greatso now SOE has given a HUGE advantage to chefs that are BE's one of the least populous classes on the servers. Those of us that can get schematics when we need are screwed plain and simple.

Before the patch I STOCKED and SOLD 10 seperate foods and drinks, I made the some of the best stuff on my server with only 10 experimentation points. Now I sit and wait, hoping I can get another factory schematic so I can start my factories back up. Also knowing it will take 3 days for the BE tissue to complete. Before the patch It was hard, but it was fun finding the best resources, making the best items and keeping stuff stocked. Now I am at the mercy of the meat providers and the BE. If you think being a chef is throwing stuff in a factory then your a moron and it will show in your product, wait nevermind with the new system any idiot can make decent stuff.

Also if you REALLY think anyone cares about +10 to dodge or +20 to poison/disease resistance than your only deceiving yourself. I can tell you that +17 to poison/disease resistance was a joke. Got hit on first try and was incapped shortly later. People are ONLY going to buy stuff that they can see the advantage to. Seeing a HAM bar going up and knowing that that extra mind allowed you to survive is a bigger bonus than ANYTHING else we have by FAR. The only way the defense mods will get popular is if someone can actually notice that they are dodging A LOT more than before. 1 extra dodge in 30 seconds isnt good enough.
